I've been going to Marvelous cuts for a few months now and booked with Franky who has been friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable each and every time. I have been satisfied with each and every cut that I have received.

Came in with a rough idea of what I wanted, my barber Franky listened and made recommendations. After some adjustments (his ideas) I wound up with the exact haircut I had imagined. He also guided me through products and maintenance. Would definitely recommend.

Lex runs a marvelous shop with beautiful decor and a convenient location with plenty of parking. He and Franky both give great haircuts - I’ve had fades done by both and have always been happy with the results. They’re also cool guys and fun to chat with.

Razor is phenomenal! In the last year and a half, my son has been searching for a barber to cut his hair, and he finally found one that he liked. I highly recommend Razor.

Walked in for a haircut and beard trim. Cut me 4 times with straight razor to the point where when I got home and washed up the cuts started gushing blood. Lots of razor burn and destroyed my beard neck line pushing it way too high trying to correct mistakes to just make it resemble evenness. Very disappointed. Spent over $100 for an extremely sub par haircut and trim.

I’ve had my haircut performed by some of the best barbers, but hands down, Lex and his crew are the best. They’re professional from your regular haircut to the cutting-edge technology in the barber field. There’s no place else in Massachusetts to get your haircut and other services done by some of the best professionals.

Owner's response

I got a haircut from Daija that was actually pretty good — not a $70 haircut, but good. The issue here is the pricing and how it’s presented. I booked an “Express Haircut (No Beard)” online for $50. I usually get a skin fade on the sides and a little off the top, something I’ve paid $50 for at multiple places in Seaport Boston. When I arrived, I explained exactly that — and was told the service I booked only covered a buzzer haircut, even though the listing doesn’t say that anywhere. It just says “Express Haircut, no beard,” which I selected because I don’t have a beard… I was then charged an extra $20 to get the haircut I originally asked for, bringing it to $70. Nowhere in the options does it specify what tools are used, or that a skin fade isn’t included in the service I booked. It just says ‘Express Haircut, no beard’. The pricing structure feels misleading and scammy. The haircut was fine, but the way they upsell you once you’re in the chair makes it a place I would NEVER return to. Zero stars — do not recommend.

I had the "premium haircut + beard" and I booked online. I thought the barbershop looked nice and wanted to give it a try but I was skeptical about the prices. It was nice inside and the barber was kind and professional. It was an alright haircut and beard trim but I simply cannot justify going back for the price. There was no hot towel and the shave was dry with no lather or shaving cream for the beard trim and shape up with the razor. I just expected a little bit of "luxury" with it, not just a longer sit in the chair. Although it was nice barber shop, I do not think it was worth 135 dollars (cost + tip + tax) for a haircut and beard trim as there was nothing premium about it.

I can not say enough about Daija! From Day One when I sat down in her chair I felt heard, respected and well taken care of. She is extremely knowledgeable in her craft. She does her best to hear your needs while also respectfully giving her professional opinion but reminding you that you’re the client with the final say. In addition, you can just feel her passion as she’s cutting your hair and/or doing a beard trim. The end result speaks for itself, I promise you there will be no disappointed when you’re in her chair at Marvelous Barber Lounge in Watertown.
