Writing this review a little late, but I had a wedding on 1/14 I needed to get ready for, and I looked at several places around Dallas that could do a head and face shave with a straight razor. I was hesitant at first, but when I stepped in the shop I was highly impressed. The salon/barbershop were as well put together as its employees. Incredibly friendly and hospitable employees, and Britt (my barber) was highly knowledgeable. I had no idea what I wanted my growing facial hair to look like since I'm a first-time beard grower, and Britt helped me every step of the way answering whatever questions I had with regards to facial hair growing and beard care. Price is on the high end (I believe it was $55 for the head shave and $55 for the beard shave), but it's well worth the cost. I usually use experiences like this as a way to pamper myself. When you go into the barbershop, go in knowing that you're going to be in great hands. I joked with Britt about how she's either going to scare me off or make me a lifelong customer, and it's safe to say that with her skills and knowledge, she has turned me into a lifelong client. 100% recommend this place. PS: Don't quote me on this, but I believe they offer you a complimentary drink with your visit as well, and who would say no to that?

First time coming here. Great ambiance and Sam did a good job with the haircut. Where they really lost me is the surprise up-charge. I asked for an eyebrow slit at the beginning. Barber said she could do it, but she couldn’t clean it up with a straight razor. No problem. End of haircut, I remind her of the slit. She spends 8 seconds running her clippers. Bam. She sets me up to check out and moves to the next client. At the screen I find out she charged me $20+ for an eyebrow wax… $20 for an 8 second slit is bonkers. I didn’t even get a straight razor cleanup of the slit much less the wax I was charged for. Every barber I’ve ever been to has done it complimentary. Super bummed that this caused my haircut to be 150% of the original price. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have asked for it.

I had a fantastic experience with Jonelle. I recently moved to the uptown area and was in search of a new barber. Having been to Mr. Winston’s a couple times before, I decided to give this location a chance, and I am so glad I did. Jonelle was incredibly professional and super knowledgeable, even offering up helpful advice about what hairstyles support my face shape. I cannot highly recommend him enough.

I have been coming to Mr. Winstons since I moved to Dallas last year and I must say, they do a great job every time; love the atmosphere. One of my favorite barbers, Sam, is hands down one of the best barbers here. She cuts exactly what I ask for and is very detailed oriented. Definitely takes care of her clients. If you're looking for a great barber, go see Sam! Highly recommend

Just had my first experience at Mr. Winston’s! Can I just say WOW, I love the ambience of the place! I felt so comfortable with Jonelle; he took his time to explain his process and gave me exactly what I was looking for! You can definitely tell how passionate Jonelle is about his job and clients. Definitely recommend Jonelle to anyone that wants to have an amazing haircut experience!

Mr. Winston’s is fantastic! The haircuts here are always top-notch, and the team is friendly and professional. Jonelle is an amazing barber, consistent, professional, and detail-oriented. Every visit feels personal, and he takes the time to make sure the cut fits my style perfectly. I was recommended Mr. Winston's by a friend who said this was the best barber shop he'd been to in the Dallas area. This was my first actual haircut since moving to Dallas (had been growing out my hair to donate), and I was putting my faith in the recommendation I received. Samantha gave me the exact haircut I had asked for and was very thorough in making sure she understood exactly what I wanted. I had friends and coworkers complimenting the new hairstyle (medium cut/styled/layered) and asking where I went for the cut. Hands down recommend Samantha for giving an excellent haircut experience and style that will look great.

Easily the best barbershop I’ve been to in Dallas. Well worth the cost, amazing atmosphere - laid back but sophisticated. Perfect to just get a cut and trim or enjoyable if you will have a longer service and enjoy the great buildout, TV or Tunes going, a soda, water, beer, or drink. I followed Mario from his previous spot and would do so again; but hopefully he’ll stay here as I really enjoy the experience - Mario is both a great barber and exceptionally accommodating. First class all around. Go.
