Ruben is amazing! I was nervous about using a barber shop for my pixie cut but from the moment I stepped in, my fears were put to rest. Ruben looked at my picture and listened to me and set to work. The finished look is perfect and I just couldn’t be happier!! I highly recommend for women’s cuts- you won’t be disappointed!

Update: 12/22/25 I want to give Whitney and Toya shout outs. First I want to say I scheduled two appointments for myself and my nephew who happens to be autistic. In talking to Whitney before hand. I let her know my nephew was terrified of scissors and therefore she had to use clippers only. She was extremely patient and very polite and protective of my nephew’s wants and needs. He loves his hair cut so much, this is the first time he wasn’t moving around so much and let someone cut his hair. He loves it so much he asked her for her name and now only wants her to cut his hair. Meanwhile Toya took care of my fade and I only explained once and she took the ball and ran with it. The cut was on point. Both ladies are professionals and when adversity comes both rose to the occasion. I have no problem recognizing that and I appreciate that both of them took my expectations and ran with them. Thank you both! My man Lavar hooked me with a tight fade. I’ll be back, if you looking for a tight clean fade , he got you!

First off, I got a free hair wash! I was giving it when I signed up online. The second thing, while I was putting in my reservation for 11:30 a.m., next thing I knew it had set me up for 12:30 p.m. . That was not going to do because I had to be speaking at a funeral at 3:00 p.m. in McKinney Texas. I called frantically hoping they could get me in beforehand. They actually got me in just after 11:00 a.m.! The gentleman answering the phones on the front and that day was amazing. I apologize I did not catch his name. This occurred on December 5th, 2025. Gabby was fabulous. I have cowlicks, thinning hair, and a very specific style I like — a subtle left-sided faux hawk that looks effortless, not like I’m trying to be a 25‑year‑old. At 53, I want something stylish but natural, and Gabby nailed it. I flew in from California for a funeral and, honestly, I was nearly in tears when I saw my hair — it was perfect. (I don’t use that word lightly, but she truly earned it.) After a year of heavy loss — I’d just been in Texas two and a half weeks earlier for my grandmother’s funeral — I needed to feel right, and Gabby made me feel beautiful. She gave me the confidence to stand in front of nearly 200 people and speak at the service. Thank you, Gabby — Floyd’s is lucky to have you. Sending love and a big virtual bear hug!

The first impression can be lasting. 9/7 I book my 11 year old son a barber appointment with Toya. I live in the area, saw what appeared to be overall good reviews for this establishment, the Sunday hours were convenient, so I'm was thinking, let's do this. So we walked in and we was getting the uncomfortable stare down from a man standing slightly behind the receptionist area. Which should of been clue number 1, but I overlooked it when the barber came over an introduced herself. As I was trying to describe the hair cut to the baber, the staring man told the receptionist to charge me $45 for a bald fade on a 11 year old. Clue number 2 and I almost paid for it, but heck we are not talking about a grown man. Plus the price list on the website, states kids haircuts are $27. So Toya suggested a similar cut with a price more in line with what you pay for a child, and I agreed. I went to the car and waited for my son. He came out to the car, and I loved it! I wanted to personally thank Toya for doing such a good job and discuss coming back, so I called and asked if I could speak with her. Guess who played interception, you guessed right, that same man that if looks could killed, my son and I would not be here for me to write this review. This man came with a name and combative tone, "this is Ruben, how can I help you". Wow, I recognize that voice, and he sounded like he was ready for a fight that he had already made up in his head. Clue 3. Thanks Toya, for your first time cutting my son's hair, you did an amazing job. Ruben your managerial, customer service, reading the room.was off Sunday. Truly offensive and we will not be back.

I’ve gotten a rushed, low quality haircut from two different barbers now. The first time I thought maybe it was just the barber and I should just try a different one. My second trip I requested a different barber and my haircut was even worse than the first one. Absolutely not worth the money. I paid $35 + $5 tip for a $10 quality haircut.

My husband and I both got haircuts here, the worst haircut experience of my life. The shampoo and conditioning were physically painful. Explained to the hairdresser what I wanted (long layers, losing minimal length, just blending the existing shorter layers to the existing longer layers with long side bangs) for her response to be "So you're wanting a bob?" Should've been a warning to run at that point. I ended up losing 4 inches off the length, layers that aren't blended, and extremely short straight bangs, I'm not even going to attempt to describe the horrendous styling job. Now for my husbands, sides and back of the cut look great, however he has a bald space on both of his sideburns now, top and front need to be about 3 inches shorter, and his curly hair was blow-dried so his head now looks like a q-tip. $105 we will never get back, but more importantly the time lost and that I have to attend my mother in loves funeral looking like I let my 4 year old daughter did my hair.

I have been a loyal customer of Floyd’s for a long time, but my recent experience at the Dallas Forrest location was disappointing. My daughter and I booked appointments—she for a cut and color (all-over orange with black tips, no bleach) and I for a beard trim. When checking out, we were charged $315 plus a $60 tip, which seemed incorrect. Based on the service breakdown, I believe the correct total should have been: $15 – Beard Trim $39 – Haircut $115 – Color Total: $169 + $33 tip There were two major issues: I did not request the $50 shave nor given a consultation about the cut and color. I later received a phone call from the salon, they did refund the $50 beard trim, which I would have rather just paid the normal $15. I expressed my concern about the additional charge for a second color. Since there was no bleaching involved, and only black was added to the tips, I feel this charge was excessive. They offered to redo the color at no cost, but my daughter declined. However, I did not receive a clear answer regarding reimbursement—only a vague “Have a good day.” I appreciate the follow-up call, but I would like a proper resolution. I hope Floyd’s can address this matter appropriately, as this experience left me questioning their pricing transparency.

I called this place to see if they knew the name of the salon across the street. They told me they cut women's hair. Well they really don't. My hair is much shorter than I wanted. I specifically said it has to go into a ponytail which it does not. It is also not even on each side. The left side is longer then the right. If you are a woman I would not suggest going there. On a side not the lady told me she needs to shampoo my hair versus wetting it down and brushing it. She did not say there would be a charge. This was at Preston Forest.

Clean, good listeners and able to understand my needs, sat back and enjoyed the process. The front desk person was fabulous. I made an appointment but the bar er had to leave. She directed me to a different one and ensured me i would be happy. Happy, yes. Thanks for the 30 min of relaxation and great conversation. I will be back.
