I recently moved to the neighborhood from out of state, where I had the same barber for over 10 years. Getting comfortable with a new barber is not easy. I went to another barber shop nearby with my son when we first got to town and was disappointed with both of our haircuts. When I went in to see William, not only was I comfortable in his shop, he understood exactly what I was looking for. I have brought my 2yo son in since, who is not a fan of the barber yet. William had him so calm and comfortable, and his haircut was great! The one time I needed a quick cleanup before a work trip, and William was not available, Chris stepped in and did a great job. 10/10 for Duke’s.

Final Verdict If you are looking for a "quick in-and-out" assembly line haircut, this might not be your place. But if you value craftsmanship, rich conversation, and a welcoming environment where you can build memories with your family, Will and Duke Barber Shop is peerless. We left the shop with fantastic haircuts, but more importantly, we left with a great story and a new favorite tradition.

Been a customer here for 5 years and won’t return. Booking online was not working so I had to call which took a few times to reach someone. Needed a cut for my 3 year old and asked if there was availability. I was told 4 on Thursday or 4:30 on Wednesday. I say 4:30 on Wednesday because I needed to leave work early to take him. On my way and I call to let them know I might be there a couple minutes late (eta 4:33) because Lincoln was a parking lot. I was told oh I had you at 4 so I marked you as a no show. Ok, annoying and inconvenient but tried to be flexible and took the next day, was told that 5:30 would work. Get there at 5:22 and the door is locked. Absolute garbage customer service.

It was truly just a test haircut on my journey for a new barber that turned into an adventure full of great conversation and my haircut that was finally done the way that I've wanted it. Thank you to the Duke and my new barber Chris.

My husband and both our sons (ages 10 and 4) get their haircuts here regularly. Let’s just say before finding this place, there were many years where every haircut ended in a lot of disappointment. Once they found The Duke and Will, there was no going back. Will is simply the BEST! Not only do they always leave looking great, they enjoy the whole experience. Very lucky to have this place in Chestnut Hill!

I had an appointment for weeks with someone who cut my hair for years. It was a day before the holiday, New Year’s Eve. Nobody called to tell me my appointment was cancelled and then after waiting an hour I got a haircut by someone else and I now have a rash on my face … thanks! DONT GO HERE!
