Been going to this shop for almost 20yr. Sharp cuts . I recommend going mid week as they are super busy towards the weekend. But that’s to be expected. Overall I enjoy my experience here and would recommend.

This is my 3rd time going there on a slow day. No one in the chairs and they’re closed 45mins to an hour early. If you don't come first thing in the morning or reserve an appointment. You wont get a cut

I have been going to Pete's for a few years. Basic afro maintenance and also had a low cut that he was able to do woman's style. Always looks good. Moreover as a woman I feel comfortable in the shop which hasn't always been the case at barbershops because some of them engage in "locker room guy talk" right in front of you. None of that at Pete's, just sports on the tv, r&b on the radio, go in get your fresh cut, pay, then leave. Nice and simple!

Excellent haircuts at good prices. It's conveniently located near 29th and Girard so lots of bus options. Every time I've been the staff are friendly and welcoming. They do walk in haircuts, I went in today, Friday at 4pm (they close at 5pm) and was still served. My bill was $35 for a men's haircut and beard trim and I think they did a very good job. Please try and support locally owned non-chain locations like this one when and where you can.

Love this place! Since I moved to Philly in August this has been my barber go to and I don't see this changing anytime soon. Great place great price

My hair is so ridiculously fine and hard to work with, so any time a barber can make my hair look good after a few times, I know they're very skilled. Pete literally on the first try made my hair look better than almost any hair cut I've ever had. The second I went home and put product in I was in shock at how good it looked right away. I almost NEVER have that feeling. Pete is an absolute expert, can't wait to go back there again. Also cannot believe how reasonably it was priced. There's a REASON that this place has so many good reviews.

Four solid months of no haircut had me in a permanent state of bed head! So happy this place was able to hook it up and give me the haircut I so desperately needed! The shop is right off Girard and it's a two chair operation with a small waiting area. I had made an appointment earlier in the week, and it appears that for the time being, this is the only way they are letting patrons in. My barber was great in working diligently in cutting my hair. There's options to also have your beard shaped/trimmed, shape ups, etc., and you can mix and match the services. My appointment was smooth with little wait time and the cut was perfect as far as how long it took and how well the cut came out! Glad this place was able to accommodate me and hope I don't have to go this long again between cuts!

Glad to find a real barber who knows what they're doing and doesn't overcharge. Word of caution: there's only two chairs in there right now and the place isn't big but you get a quality cut regardless of which chair you sit in.

Great haircut at a great price. New to the neighborhood and wanted to find a local barber and I definitely found my new go to. Friendly and efficient service with a lot of attention to detail.

The most important thing about a good barber shop or good Barber is consistency. It's a two chair barber shop and some of the sharpest hands in North Philly, located near 29th and Girard guaranteed once you start going there's is no place you would prefer more. Considering the quality of haircut and consistency of hourly operations many other similar establishments which charge $25 for the standard haircuts here which they offer at 14 to 16 "somewhere in there" but either way it feels like a discount.
