Whenever I've moved to a new city, it has always taken me months and multiple barbershops to find a "good" one that gives a decent and consistent haircut. Gents Barber Lounge broke that streak for me, because I got a great haircut the very first time and they continue to deliver every time I visit. My son always looks forward to getting his hair cut at Gents. The barbers are welcoming and always make him feel comfortable enough to open up during his haircut. Every haircut turns out amazing and exactly what we want. Definitely recommend Gents!

I've been coming here for years; I always receive a great cut, regardless of the barber. Joey runs an excellent shop. 10/10 recommend!

It's important to have a shop in the neighborhood that can cut textured hair and in the 2+ years I've been going, they haven't missed. Easily the best cuts I've ever gotten - this is the one to count on for all the big moments and everything in between.

Hands down the best barber in the area. Always takes his time, pays attention to detail, and you can tell he actually cares about how you walk out looking. The atmosphere is chill, good music, good conversation — you’ll feel like you’re catching up with a friend while getting the cleanest cut around. Highly recommend!

I booked a haircut for Sunday at 1:15 pm (open hours posted were 10 am to 4 pm) and paid a $15 deposit. Got there and they were closed. Called the phone number listed 3 times and it went to a full voice mail. I then sent them a message on their site and heard back at 5 pm via text message to come in that evening to get my haircut. I politely asked for a refund on the deposit and have now been ghosted. $15 dollars isn’t the end of the world but the principle of being an honest business seems to be completely lacking here. I’ll never know if they are a good shop and I will make a point to tell others what happened here if asked for a barbershop rec in the fishtown area.

If your looking for a barber for your groomsmen then I highly recommend Gents to do your hair care. Joey came to the hotel the morning of the wedding and cut, shaped up and did beards and shaved all of the groomsmen and groom. Joey did an amazing job.

I schedule an appointment, they take my $64 deposit. Later that night joey "the owner" texts me and said "he cant access my money, can I send him another 60" via pay pal. I do. Before my hair is even cut I'm down money. Mind you I sent him the second payment no problem. I show up for my hair cut, he didn't even remember that I was coming. Thankfully still got my hair cut. He tells me to wait until Monday after the weekend for my money to be refunded from the original deposit on the hair cut. He even said if not "he will gladly take a payment request" by mid day Monday and will pay me. Monday comes around, no refund. I send him a pay pal request, he denies it. So now i'm still down my $64 dollars. We go into Tuesday, now i'm texting him chasing down for my orginal $64 dollars. He tells me its coming and for whatever reason I still have to wait. Tuesday, he now doesn't want to use paypal even though we are already connected and he can send the money right back to me on there. Nope, he wants my venmo. Ok cool, so i'm thinking this will finally be resolved and he will send me the full $64 on venmo. Nope. I have to reach out again. And he tells me I am going to send you your money back in "$25, $25, $10". (LOL) ok bud just give me my money at this point. Some random chick, sends me $25. Not him. One of the most bizarre situations involving a business in my life, over $64. It is now Wednesday and i'm still short money. Texting this guy over $35. Not quite sure what is going on here but with all the other barber shops out there I would stay a way from this one at this point.

Reached my end here. I have been going here for at least 3-4 years. Lately service is terrible. Barber doesnt even listen to you. I asked for short hair and to leave my beared alone. Got weird different length hair and completely shaved beard. I was charged for beard too. That time I decided it was my last time. I gave it another shot and scheduled haircut for this morning, barber didn’t even show up. Keep the deposit guys, I’m tired of all that. Good luck.
