Been getting my haircut here for a year now. I go with Nate every time and he is awesome. Gives great guidance and suggestions. My first haircut with him was so good my wife made me take photos so I could show him every time after that to just keep doing the same thing.

I recently visited the barbershop for the first time and my experience was quite pleasant. Nate was/is my barber and I’ve been with him for a year now (I’ve actually never followed a barber to a different location but this was worth it). There were also 2-3 other barbers on site who were very nice as well. Friendly, easy conversations were had and the environment is very welcoming.

I have been bouncing around to different barber shops in south philly for a few years. Thanks to Steve at Burke & Payne, I have found a permanent home for my barber needs. Friendly staff but better service and a great atmosphere.

I came in Stevie Took care right away Extremely friendly guy conversations was off the chart we went from talking about sports to Pokémon cards to Stranger Things.. For a bald guy, he brought my confidence all the way up. My beard was looking like a homeless man, and he sharpened it up Like a master barber should! God bless that man’s hands. I’m going home and I know I’m getting lucky tonight. Thank u Stevie I highly recommend it and everybody in the shop is amazing. I love the atmosphere and the vintage look.

The only place I get my haircut in Philly. I travel often and always make sure I look fresh by stopping into Burke & Payne. Steve is great and there is always a friendly conversation to accompany my haircut. I love the consistency of knowing what I’m getting and I always know I’m going to get the best cut. Thanks Steve!

I’ve been a regular customer at Burke and Payne at 9th and Fitzwater for several years. While I always choose Carlos, the other barbers there are also skilled and friendly. Carlos is not only an excellent barber who pays close attention to details like tge edges around my ears snd temples, but he remembers how I like my hair cut and needs little direction when I come in. Although this is a premium barber shop that charges on the higher end of the scale ($45 for a classic men’s cut), I remain a loyal customer for the quality of the service and the overall experience.

Carlos is hands down the best barber in the game, no doubt about it! Every time I sit in his chair, I walk out feeling fresh and confident. He pays attention to every little detail! The fade is always clean, the lineup is sharp, and he takes his time to make sure the cut fits you and it’s to a professional standard! What really sets Carlos apart is how consistent he is. No matter how busy the shop gets, he still gives you that same quality and care every single time. The vibe in his chair is chill too — good convo, good vibes and good energy. If you’re looking for a barber who actually cares about your look and takes pride in his work, Carlos is the one. 100% recommend

I recently started going to Nate and couldn’t be happier with the experience. He’s an incredibly skilled barber who leverages his keen eye for photography to deliver a precise cut every time. Beyond that, he’s a genuinely great conversationalist which makes every appointment enjoyable. What really impressed me was how he went above and beyond by recommending some skin and scalp treatments that have made a real difference. He took the time to understand what would work best for me rather than just doing the basics.

This is the best barber shop my husband has tried over our years in Philly. They give excellent cuts and are reasonably priced. They are also fast, often taking 30 minutes or less.The stylists are friendly and helpful. They offered to do gray touchups when our home applications were not looking great. I also give them props for dealing cheerfully with the crowds from Angelo's that mill around outside their front door.
