Excellent experience getting a hair cut. Mike is great. My first time getting my hair cut at Mike's. He asked plenty of questions to deliver the expected hair style cut I wanted. I would very highly recommend getting your next cut here.

I called ahead to ask how much a kids’ haircut would cost and was told $23 over the phone. I brought my son in about 30 minutes later. After the haircut, I went to pay, only to be told at the register that it was cash only. At no point during the phone call was I informed that your business does not accept cards. I had just enough cash for a tip and was caught completely off guard. When I expressed this, the staff simply pointed across the street and said there was a bank I could use. That bank is not my institution—why should I be expected to pay additional service fees or waste time making a separate trip? What if I had been in a hurry? Thankfully, one of your employees kindly covered the cost, and I Zelled her the $23 directly. That act of kindness saved the situation, not your business practices. This is not acceptable. There was no apology, no accountability—just a clear lack of professionalism. I was put in an uncomfortable position in front of other customers, and your staff acted as if this was normal. It’s not. As a customer, I expect transparency, especially about payment policies. I’m extremely disappointed and hope you take this feedback seriously. No one should have to go through this kind of avoidable hassle.

Walked into Mike’s Barber Shop and they were ready to take me immediately. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They cleaned my hair with shampoo before the haircut which felt great and refreshing. My barber was named Mark and he did a fantastic job. He was highly skilled and an attentive professional who took pride in his work. The haircut itself was a masterclass in precision and attention to detail. Mark worked with precision and care, carefully crafting a look that not only met but exceeded my expectations. Very reasonably priced especially for someone like myself who gets only 2 haircuts a year. If you're looking for a barbershop that truly understands the art of grooming, look no further than Mike’s Barber Shop. With their exceptional service, expertly crafted styles, and commitment to excellence, this barbershop is sure to exceed your expectations. I, for one, will be back.

Just moved to the neighborhood, so I was looking for a new barber shop. Walked into Mike's for the first time today, and it definitely will not be the last! Sat right down with Kristina, who cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. She was fast but didn't rush. I'm looking forward to coming back again and again!

Whenever I’m in New York, I need a haircut, it’s my place to go! They have about eight barbers working all the time, so rarely is there a wait. The shop is clean and well lit and the prices are reasonable and consistent with other shops. I go to Ada!

Been going here for almost 20 years, they're great and the owner is always so friendly. It can be a little busy at times but they have a few different barbers so I've never had to wait more than like 15 minutes, usually you'll go right away though. They do my beard too which is nice

I’ve been going here for a few years now and couldn’t be happier. Mike and his staff are warm and welcoming. Mike’s barber shop is definitely the official barber shop of Staten Island. Oksana is my stylist and the absolute best. She always makes me look great. I highly recommend her.

I've been going to this barber shop for almost 20 years. Great service always at a very fair price. Any of the barbers do a great job, including Mike himself. I definitely missed these guys when barber shops were forced closed due to COVID-19, and it was a thrill to finally get my first haircut after they re-opened. I'm grateful for the entire staff and how warm and professional they are.

I would like to put out that this is a cash only place. The worker's here are professional and treated me with a huge amount of respect for a first time customer. Sometimes when you walk in to a place where many of them are older you feel intimidated but that was not the case. I had gotten a skin fade and 3 on top just like I always do ( for me you never want to go long after the military just feels sloppy). I would go here again and again and recommend it to anyone who may be looking for a new place.
