This is my go to barber for my son because they are very patient there. My son has sensory issues, so he needs a lot of hand holding when he has his hair cut. Prices are always reasonable, and I never have to wait when I make an appointment.

Rays Barbershop is hands down the best. Ray did an amazing job with my son patient, professional, and incredibly skilled. I also bring my other two kids here, and every single time the experience is great. Ray makes the kids feel comfortable, takes his time, and the cuts always come out perfect. You can tell he truly cares about his work and his clients. The whole shop has a great vibe, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a barber they can trust.

This is, quite literally, the best barbershop I have been to! It offers that old-school barbershop vibe that is hard to find in today's salon system. Reminds me of the barbershop I used to go to with my dad when I was a boy. Thanks, Ray, Shawn, and Jose!

This is the best barber I’ve ever been to hands down. If you’re frustrated, trying lots of places but always getting a haircut you’re not 100% happy with, just go to Ray’s. I wish i had known about it years ago

When I first moved to New York City I went through a ton of barbers and just could not find the right fit, that is until I walked into Rays shop. I have been coming to Ray for 8 years, and there is a reason I will not go anywhere else. He not only gives me his expert advice on what will look best as my hair changes(aging.. what a joy!) but he is also someone I can call a friend. Never have I experienced a better shop, and there is no better barber of that I am sure. Also, when he is busy, you can take a stroll through Inwood Hill Park while you wait! Do not miss out on this shop. Also, ask for Shawn too, great barber and person! And I am not just saying that because we share an awesome name... Thank you Ray, for all that you do for Inwood and for making me look great the last 8 years! Much love. -Sean

I can't say enough good things about Ray's Barbershop. When I first moved to the neighborhood over four years ago, I was anxious about finding a place that would give a good haircut and wouldn't charge a king's ransom in order to do it. I found Ray's and never turned back. Not only are the haircuts there among the best I've ever had, they're reasonable and a visit there feels like catching up with old friends. Since first going there, I became a father and was proud to have my son (who is almost 3 now) go there for HIS first haircut and subsequently for all his cuts thereafter. They're brilliant with kids, great for a shave or a regular cut and, above all, are professional and diligent in their customer service and deliver a service that is well worth the money. I can't recommend Ray's enough -- you can't go wrong with any of their stylists truly -- but, Sean deserves my thanks and appreciation for how awesome he's been over the years. Amazing gem of a place to have in our neighborhood.

I called to get my hair colored, they said they do it.. when my turn came, they said no sorry we don't do colors 😒 so as i crossed a long distance based on the 5 stars of the shop, i wanted to get a haircut too. it was good but not extraordinary as expected or as the comments below say.. they are cool guys but surely can find better and more professional .. you have to wait for more than 50 minutes and it's a small salon !! They mention that in September they ll work on reservations.. so maybe will be better
