i have never written a review in my life but once i had an appointment and was five minutes late because i live downtown and traveled all the way to harlem for a cut and they said i could no longer take my appointment. the barber in the front has the worst attitude. i only came because one of the barbers were real humble and didnt require appointments. he was surprisingly good and i only came to him and tipped him well every time. suddenly as im coming to get a cut from him they start requiring him to take appointments only. (mind you nobody is in his seat or waiting). ok cool, i make an appointment but still i cant even get seated because im 5 minutes late (early in the day) to a shop thats not ever packed? just weird business practices over all and does not feel like a welcoming place to get a cut at all.

I didn’t end up getting a cut from here. They only accept cash, which wasn’t listed anywhere on their Booksy booking app. Additionally, even though I booked a specific barber based on his photos, the person assigned to cut my hair wasn’t the one whose work was shown in the pictures.

I am new to the area. I am always look for a Dominican barbershop anywhere I go/live since I know they are well known in the barbershop industry. I got a haircut and beard shape/trim by Jordman. I called and setup the appointment - day before and showed up 5 mins before the appointment and they took me right away. The service was quick and efficient (30mins) and exactly what I asked for (skin fade, natural beard shape up and trim). Price is fair, facility is small but in a great location. Typical Dominican barbershop with music, cool ambiance, and in/out service! I heard they are strict about their no show/late policy and I think that is great and fair for a business! I am definitely coming back again and making him my barber from now on.

Barbershop full of extremely average barbers with the arrogance of seasoned pro’s. Just moved to East Harlem so was looking for a shop and a friend said they were okay so I decided to go to them since they are close. The first two times I got aggressively average haircuts, but the price was decent and it was convenient so decided to go back a third time. Mind you, the second time, I had to wait 5 minutes to get in the chair, which of course is not a big deal at all. However the third time I went (which was today) I walked in the shop at 2:01 and was told I would not be serviced because I was a minute late for my appointment at 2. I’m not sure if these people are stupid and just don’t understand the reason that many successful businesses have a grace period or they just don’t like money, but at any rate it’s weird, especially given that I have waited in that barbershop before. Arrogant set of very average barbers, who are not worth the hassle. I’m sure they’ll reply with the same garbage they’ve been peddling under other people’s comments who call out this ridiculous behavior, not realizing that it’s costing them revenue.

I have never written a review before but this incident has me disheartened by the way customers are treated. I have been coming to this barbershop for 2 years after I walked in and was told that they book through an app. I moved to Harlem but never had a barber here because I went to my childhood barber in the Bronx. I saw recently that I was blocked on the app due to three cancellations ( which I never knew was policy) over the span of 2 years, I guess customer loyalty is not valued and they have so much business they don't feel the need to build relationships with the people they service. the reason I needed to cancel for my last appointment was I had a last minute meeting, I usually get my cut on my lunch break because I work from home. Side note: The short one with the glasses is rude as hell and treats customers very harshly. I was 3 minutes late ( because of traffic) and my barber was on vacation and he tried to cancel my appointment. READ CAREFULLY! The response to my review does not invalidate what was written.

Owner's response

We did not cancel your appointment once you are late it is a no-show we have our rules placed up in the business which say to arrive 5 minutes early as we do not have a grace period. We have explained the rules to you on multiple occasions - you missed twice on August 17 and once on the 24th which is why you were blocked. Yes we do appreciate our customers but we also require customers to respect our time / rules or they can freely go to another barbershop.

The BEST OF THE BEST!! Real simple.. book your appointment.. show up on time… and you won’t be disappointed. Started going to Randy’s barber shop about a year and I haven’t gone else where since. They treat you like family and no matter the barber you’ll get an amazing haircut. Prices are also reasonable and not inflated like other uptown barber shops. Randy is my barber and he takes his time to make sure he gets the haircut just like you want it. Love the Booksy coordination since it makes everything simple and their is no wait time Beyond 5minutes. 5 stars all around!!

I recently visited a barbershop named Randy's Barbershop and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Firstly, the barbershop does not follow the state's guidelines when it comes to sanitation, which is a major concern given the current health situation. The place looked unclean and there was no visible effort to sanitize the equipment or surfaces before or after use. Moreover, I had made an appointment beforehand and arrived on time, but had to wait an extra 20 minutes before being attended to. This shows that the barbershop has no respect for their clients' time, which is unacceptable. The most concerning aspect of my experience, however, was the barber who attended to me. His name was Randy and he reeked of alcohol while cutting my hair. It was evident that he had been drinking before coming to work, which was not only unprofessional but also a safety hazard. I felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the entire haircut and was afraid that the barber's lack of attention due to his intoxication could result in an injury. I left the barbershop feeling unhappy and unsafe, and would not recommend anyone to visit Randy's Barbershop.

Owner's response

I don’t know what barbershop you went to but it was definitely not here you did not get a haircut with Randy. Our barbers take the proper steps necessary to sanitize our equipment. It is impossible that Randy “reeked” of alcohol as you stated as he does not even drink. I don’t know who you are or why you wrote this fake review - but I find it silly that you would even make<br> up this story about getting a haircut while you allegedly feared for your life.

Really didn't want to go there... I have my own barber... 2 actually, but in the same shop. That way i can be next faster. My barbers were both on vacation and i needed a cut badly. I had an appointment where i had to look presentable. I went to this shop and I'm not going to lie, i was a lil worried plus while getting my cut, BUT I must say... The guy that cut my hair did a very good job. I left happy and relieved, lol. The price is also good. I know have an emergency spot.
