After living in NYC for six years, this was easily the worst haircut experience I’ve ever had. The barber completely ignored my requests, repeatedly trying to push his own ideas onto me instead of giving me the cut I asked for. Most frustratingly, I asked for a simple beard trim to clean up flyaways; instead, he took a 1-guard and shaved off six months of growth. Even after I expressed my dissatisfaction, he insisted his way was 'better.' If you value your hair or beard, avoid this place.

If you are looking for a barber who is knowledgeable and serious about his craft, Shalom is the best I have found in the city. I have been 3 times now and each time he has listened to what I’m looking for, and then offered his opinion on what will work (and he’s right). He is the only barber so quality and consistency is a given. He is also quick, regularly available, and reasonably priced. He is a little blunt and may pester you to leave a review but highly recommend in terms of the service he gives.

I've tried almost every barbershop in Hell's Kitchen without any success. On my wedding day I tried Majestic. They nailed it on the first try. Since August 2023, it's the only place I get my hair cut.

I absolutely never do this but this time I had to. The guy seem cool, but he does not know at all what he’s doing with Afro hair. Worst high fade I ever had. I had to stop him. He still charged 40 and I had to go to another barber to save the best he could. A really bad experience

I found Shalom while looking for a new barber to help change up my hairstyle, and I am extremely pleased with the quality of cut and level of service. He not only gave me an excellent cut, but he also gave me great advice for washing, maintaining, and grooming the hair as it grows into my desired style. Strongly recommend

I’ve gone twice now, finding this barbershop randomly, just walking around running errands; and Shalom (the owner) has been nothing but the nicest, friendliest, and kindest barber I could ask for. He made me feel like I mattered, and that my time was valued, which isn’t always the easiest to come by for some of us. He remembers every detail, shows empathy, is extremely hardworking, and it shows immediately. He’s a great barber, a great guy, and I’m very thankful for finding his barbershop. I absolutely, cannot, recommend Shalom enough! One thousand thank you’s!

Shalom is awesome and has very fair prices, despite doing excellent work! Just moved here from Texas and was long overdue for a haircut and shave. Shalom listened to what I requested for my typical haircut, but then offered great advice for my hair type. Turned out perfect - one of the best haircuts I’ve had! He offers a deal on haircut + shave which I took him up on. Very nice attention to detail on the old school, straight razor shave + nice comforts of warm towels and whatnot. I will 100% be back here for all my haircuts in NYC!

My regular haircut place. Nice and quick haircut. Shalom and his partner are friendly and have always given me good haircuts. The place is small but well equipped and clean. For hell's kitchen it's one of the best priced places.
