AJ is such a great and professional barber. Every time I get a haircut with him, he takes the time and care to really get it right. He asks the right questions, makes sure I’m comfortable, and never rushes the process. He’s super easygoing, easy to talk to, and always brings such positive energy to his work. On top of that, he’s incredibly talented and consistent. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more. If you’re thinking about booking, do it. He’s amazing.

Strange experience at Columbus Circle location, on a recent Sunday. $145 for a haircut and shave; almost twice as much as places just a couple blocks away, so I figured it would be a more elaborate experience or at least a very good close shave. It was the opposite. The quality was very low; there are still a lot of patchy areas of hair on my face and neck. I didn't think to check it at the time because I figured the person knew what they were doing, but I think they were just phoning it in. I'm sure the other barbers are good, but when you dilute the quality of barbers like this, it is a dangerous game for a place that markets itself as being an upscale alternative. There are plenty of options for this service in NYC. I will just go somewhere else next time.

I got a fantastic straight, razor shave. It was a first class experience where they really got everything trimmed down and cleaned up properly. They took their time and you can tell they were really experienced. Not cheap but you pay for what you get.

I had a spur of the moment haircut with Richard today, and it was a great experience. Very personable and easy to get along with. It’s been a long time since I got a haircut or beard trim and I walked out of there feeling like a new man. Would highly recommend and if I’m ever back in NYC for another long job, I know right where I’ll be going!

AJ is an amazingly gifted barber and a wonderful person to spend some time with. The entire barbershop has a lovely vibe which is very friendly and welcoming. I’ve searched for many years to find someone who could cut long hair just the way I want in New York City and AJ does an amazing job every time, I am so lucky to have found this place!!!

Richard is an incredibly talented barber. I am extremely picky about my hair, and I after seeing Richard’s name in several positive reviews, I decided to give him a shot. I am glad I did because I now have my go-to NYC barber. I have medium length hair, and I wanted a cut that would allow me to have a little more control over my quiff (I was also looking for a little course correct over my last cut at a different shop, which took months to grow back out). Richard took the time to ask me detailed questions until he had a solid understanding of what I was looking for. He separated my hair and measured the sides before starting, and then proceeded to give me one of the best scissor cuts I’ve ever received. His attention to detail is a testament to the passion he has for making hair look great. It is one of the few times I have walked out of a barbershop standing a little taller with a smile on my face. Beyond the cut, Richard is an interesting and wonderful human being, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. It is worth noting that the guy in Richard’s seat before me walked away with a perfect fade - so it looks like he is skilled with shorter lengths too. But speaking from experience, if you take an unhealthy amount of pride in your medium length hair, trust Richard to knock it out of the park.

Love this place. For the first reason, Alex, the girl who cuts my a hair is just a pro—full stop. She has the knowledge and experience and takes pride in doing well. It took my a while to find her when I moved to NYC, but when I did, I never used anyone else. I did accidentally book with the other Alex at this location and he did a great job too. I just do t like to change who cuts my hair, but in a pinch I would def be comfortable with the other pros that work here. It’s also a nice atmosphere. They are super fun and nice. I don’t need the frills of a night club table service, so don’t expect that. But do expect some amenities, a chill environment, and friendly people. Come here enough and it starts to feel like family! Can’t recommend this location enough. If you can’t book Alex (she can book up fast), still check it out, they all take doing a good job seriously.

Richard at Long and Short Barber Shop provided an exceptional hot towel shave. His expertise and technique were so relaxing that I actually fell asleep during the process, a clear testament to the quality of his service. Highly recommended for a soothing and skilled grooming experience.

I had an amazing experience at Long & Short Barber Co. I was matched up with Danny, and he was fantastic. I was scheduled for a haircut and a beard trim so I came in with a few references photos. Danny took a look at the photo and made some adjustments for me in particular to make sure things looked as good as possible. He was hilarious throughout, meticulous, and made me want to go back as soon possible.
