EDIT: the owner was kind enough to reach out to me following my haircut and offered a refund, he explained the situation to me and promised to do my next haircut himself. I appreciate the effort he put in and will follow up with him in a couple months for my next haircut Original: After growing my hair and beard out for months I went for a simple trim up just so I could continue growing it out, along with photos of what I was trying to get with a detailed description. The barber immediately started hacking up my hair with the razor despite me asking and having booked for a scissor cut. She did not seem to understand that I was saying with scissors and had to be corrected multiple times by the other Barber. then proceeded to cut my hair at least four to five inches short despite me saying just a trim. when it came to my beard she did not understand what I was requesting and again despite the other Barbara trying to explain to her she almost went to completely shave it clean. ultimately I decided to just say everything was good so I could leave before anything else was done. Planned to go home and salvage what I can myself. Truly months of hair and beard growth gone to waste.

Great place! I’ve been Steve client at 5th Av Barber Shop for more than 10 years, excellent professionals. If you look for a haircut in Manhattan, that’s the place!!

Fifth Avenue Barbershop does an EXCELLENT job. So far I’ve been to three different skilled barbers there and each one gave me some of the best haircuts I’ve had in my life. The place is a bit pricey but it’s absolutely worth it. They definitely get 5 stars from me.

Been coming here for around six years, always a nice atmosphere and fair pricing. I usually just go with whoever is available first, and everyone does a good job, but I’m always happy if Aisha’s chair is open when I walk in. She knows what she’s doing!

Big shout out to Svetlana. Great haircut. I walked in without knowing what I want and got a perfectly cut with sensors that underlined all of my face features. Svetlana understand different types of hair. What works, what doesn’t. Overall great experience, significantly surpassing expectations especially at that price point. Highly recommend for anyone in search for a consistent place, and a trustworthy professional.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this barber shop for the past ten years and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff are incredibly welcoming and provide exceptional service. I feel fortunate to have such a great barber shop so close to my home. They do a great job, know how to style and I always leave with a smile.

I highly recommend the 5th Avenue Barbershop. Steve and the rest of the barbers do a fantastic job! I have been a customer for five years and appreciate their professionalism each time that I go to get a cut!

I’ve been going to Fifth Avenue Barbershop for over 5 years and I would never go elsewhere. It was one thing when it was easy when I was living in midtown but even after moving to New Jersey, I still come in to get my haircut there. I’ve been going to Ayesha from my very first visit because she is the best. She’s incredibly nice, professional and does a fantastic job every time. She always takes her time and it shows how much pride she takes in her work. The Barbershop is well-priced and a great place for anyone looking for a reliable haircut. Can’t recommend enough.
