This establishment is honestly a health hazard. My husband went in for a beard trim and left with several open cuts to his neck, as well as a rash. There was no disinfectant within site at the shop, and the razors used were very very dull. He’s been to many many barber shops in the city and this has never happened before. Please go elsewhere, unless this shop upgrades their equipment and starts taking sanitation seriously

The service and the quality of hair cut has gone down over the years. The barbers have been changing more frequently in the last year resulting in lack of consistency. It's also never clear when they take cards vs when they don't. And they don't bother to inform you before you get a haircut. Too much hassle and inconsistency to come back again.

Rose gave me the best haircut/fade I've had in years. She was very careful, took her time, and really understood what I wanted. I'm only on UWS for a meeting today, so I'm sad I won't be in the area to get another haircut from her in the future.

Went in to have my undercut buzzed and the woman who did it was very sweet but took a long time (like 20 minutes!) and she pressed the razor pretty hard into my head so it was kinda painful! Final product looked good. She cleaned up the edges nicely. But they charged me for a full haircut ($25) which seems expensive for just buzzing half my head

By the time I left here the back of my neck was bleeding in about 20 different places. I seriously look like I got mauled by a cat. Not returning. Not gentle on the skin and probably bad equipment. A barbershop should be a relaxing experiencing, not leave me in pain for several days.

This is the absolute best barber shop on the Upper West Side. I could be bias, since I exclusively get my haircut here, but the everyone who works here is very well skilled. They remember you by name. Its certainly a neighborhood business. No nonsense barber shop. Marlene and Rose give great cuts for both men and women!

This is the only place my husband will go for his haircut. The woman who cuts his hair and beard is named Rosa. She listens to his feedback and uses every tool in the shop to give the perfect cut, nicest trim and cleans him up real nice. She makes herself available to him when he wants to come in. Fast but precise service. Very homey, makes you feel like a "regular".

This barber shop truly is a home to me I am here once a week. People are always super nice barbers and clients everything is very clean. Alex is my barber he knows what he is doing and truly does have skills on the art of cutting hair.

I went here today because my normal barber doesn't come in until the evening at his LES barber shop and I am leaving the country for vacation this afternoon. They had good reviews in a good area, so I thought I would give them a chance. That is a decision I wish I could take back. If I could, I would go back in time and stave off the urge to get a haircut and look nice for my vacation and instead just be a woolly mammoth. I didn't catch the name of the lady who did my hair, nor did she offer it, but she is a middle-aged stern faced Israeli (?) woman near the front door in the second chair. I did not ask for anything special, just a size 1 fade on the sides and a 1/4" trim on top which I even showed how little I wanted cut. She took off OVER TWO INCHES! Almost 3 inches! More than 10 times what I asked for. Are you serious?? Do you know how long it took me to grow that? My hair now looks HORRENDOUS. Literally, the worst cut I have ever had in my life and I have had some bad cuts. In fact I am going to contact the owner and request a refund, not that that helps me for the next two months looking like I got in a fight with a lawnmower. Avoid these butchers at all costs. UPDATE: I called the owner, and he refused to refund my money even after telling him about this. When I asked him he said "No we're not going to do that." And literally hung up on me. I should have noticed that most of all the other positive reviewers have only a couple reviews under their belts (ie fake or paid reviews). Unethical business. *AVOID*
