I have been more loyal to this place than any barbershop... And for good reason... This place is hands down the best in the city... And what do you say... You can't spell barbershop without bar! 😂

I've been here before and had a great experience with Peter cutting my hair. Today I had someone else (whose name I didn't get), it was an unpleasant haircut. EDIT: changing to 2 stars after realizing my side burns are completely uneven and one is missing a chunk of hair in the center. It seemed like he was using bad barber tools (dull scissors, rough comb, etc). My hair got caught in his scissors multiple times and he practically ripped my hair out at one point and wacked my head with his weirdly heavy comb. He also left a massive red mark on my neck and when I pointed it out he denied it and said it was a birth mark (I think I know my own birth marks dude...). I also would've preferred if he asked me before giving me a shoulder massage, I would've said no. I've gotten enough haircuts in my life to know it shouldn't be like that.

I have brought my sons here many times. This is the only barber shop I will take them to at this point. These guys do a great job and they can deal well with little jumpy squirming kids. I like the old school vibes and non-pretense of this shop. These guys are totally classic, and also they do amazing designs if that’s what you’re into. They are friendly and sweet and their wait times are great. Reasonable prices too. I think the guys that work here are the ideal image of how a barber and a barber shop should be. Chill, approachable, kind hearted, talented, experienced, patient. We have tried other places in the east village closer to our apartment and closer their school…and the people working at these other places have been super rude, they don’t even acknowledge you when you walk into the shop, or, you book an appointment and come back on time, and they still make you wait and wait. I don’t know about you, but I can’t be waiting and waiting around, especially with kids. Honestly, all those other stank barber shops around town have made me appreciate Ace of Cuts even more. They’re the best.

I was visiting New York for my birthday and thought I'd try out a NY barber - absolutely no regrets. I'd HIGHLY recommend this place. Mitch was meticulous with the details of my hair while holding a great conversation, I even left it up to Mitch's suggestions and creativity to see where he would take it. I left with a fantastic cut that marvels my barber back home! All of the guys in the shop were friendly and attentive. They even offered a free shot which was a nice touch before going out that night. The vibes, atmosphere and customer service were all superb.

This is my go to barber shop for my undercut. As a queer woman, I sometimes feel weird going into barber shops since I'm usually the only girl there. I felt totally normal and relaxed at this place. It feels like a little spa treatment every time I get my undercut done. They also offered me a drink which was really nice.

Ace of Cuts is hands down the best barbershop in town! No appointments, no hassle—just walk in, and they take care of you. The vibe is always welcoming, and the barbers are true professionals who know what they’re doing. I’ve been coming here for a while now, and every cut has been on point. Alex, Peter, and Sam are all top-notch barbers who really know their craft. No matter who you sit with, you’re in good hands. They take their time to make sure you leave looking sharp, and you can tell they take pride in their work. The wait can get a little long during peak hours, but that’s just a sign of how good they are. Plus, the atmosphere makes the time fly good music, great conversations, and a real community feel. If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled, and friendly barbershop, Ace of Cuts is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I've been coming here for years now. It's the most reliable barber shop in the neighborhood. Sam the man is my guy. You don't necessarily need an appointment, but they do get really busy late in the week and the weekends. The price for a regular mens hair cut is $33 as of 8/11/24. All the staff is friendly, and they also have a great verity of beverages to enjoy while you hang out and get your fade! Overall, it is highly recommended

Sam, the man, is The Man. I went for a haircut with recommendation from a friend that lives in the village. He said he’s been going there for several years now. I trust him and it’s a good thing I did. Seats were full and Sam introduced himself. I had a meaningful conversation with Sam a.k.a. Shalom (which means peace). I enjoyed my experience. They also offered me a drink. “You can’t spell Barbershop without ‘Bar’”. I had a few shots of cognac while I was getting my haircut. Kept me warm. They were friendly individuals, Alex, Peter, and Sam, the Man. We shared great stories with each other; talking about his life, his history in Queens/Forest Hills. All the gentlemen are friendly in general. I think I found my barbershop in NYC after going to several other places mixed from West Village, FiDi, and Midtown. These guys are authentic and genuine guys, and I had a fantastic time and experience at Ace of Cuts Barber Shop! I would 20 out of 10 recommend this barbershop. I live in Battery Park City and made the 30 minute trek Ace of Cuts in East Village and I would say it’s 1000% worth. Thank you for the hospitality, Alex, Peter, and of course, Sam, The Man. I highly recommend you stop by for a cut and get anyone. They’re all excellent at the craft and have you coming out clean cut and styled out. They’re usually busier Thursdays-Saturdays and less busy Sunday-Tuesday. Open 8:30am-8pm everyday with the exception of Sunday, 9:30am-6pm. Like I said, I found my barber shop. And will be coming back. Thank you!

This barbershop is a hidden gem 💎 Incredible service! Alex took care of me like I was family. He’s a solid dude and an expert in his field. Everyone in the community respects him which tells you he’s a real one. The atmosphere of the store is friendly and felt like home. The prices are affordable, prolly the best price I received in New York.

Went in for a haircut. Showed the barber a picture of the exact cut I wanted. Thought it looked okay right after the cut, even though it looked nothing like the picture (The first picture). The cut was also completely lopsided. Also asked to have two small notches added to one of my eyebrows. Ended up with two chunks missing from that eyebrow. The barber also reshaped my eyebrows without permission and cut me in two places.
