This guy, William Baker, should go back to barber school. He has no idea the difference of short hair cuts for men. Cant even line up a fade perfect. Has to be explained what a high and low fade is. I guess he is used to just clipping hair with scizzors. Fade haircuts is not hard, just need proper shavers. Pfft!

Great barbershop in middle of downtown Belmont. Been going to William for a couple of years now. I sit down, he remembers me between visits, and just starts cutting. Highly recommend.

Colin Lesenger did an amazing job, for a great price. I've just recently moved to the area so I've been trying out just about every barbershop in the Charlotte area and I think I've just found the one that I'll be going to for the foreseeable future: here.

This is the only barbershop in town my son is comfortable at. The staff is kind. The haircuts are always perfect, and the shop is a fun and eclectic vibe. Scheduling is also super easy on the square go app.

Absolutely the best barber shop I have been to as an adult. Staff is always attentive, kind, caring, knowledgeable, courteous, and enjoyable. As a bonus, you will never walk out of here looking like you have a five dollar haircut, they are always on point. Also love the old days local nostalgia style of this place. In my opinion, perfection has finally been ascertained in the world of old school barbershops.

I’ve been a customer here for roughly a year now. I’ve never once received anything shy of excellence from these guys. Kyle is my barber and he takes his time to make sure that your haircut is flawless. No matter what they always have smiles on their faces and you always leave feeling like your time was valued by them. Blessed to have found a place that cares about their customers and their craft. I would recommend them to anybody and everybody who wants a professional, sharp, and consistent haircut. And some good old fashion barbershop conversation.

Love the boys at the Mercantile! Such great people and they can cut hair too! If you expect to walk in and get your haircut good luck they are busy all year round I have to call for an appointment at least a week in advance. If that tells you how good they are I really don’t need to say much more. Do yourself a favor and try this awesome hometown barber!

Best haircut ever. It's no mistake that these guys get so many 5 star reviews. It was a great atmosphere, fun guys to sit and chat with while getting your manes tamed by highly skilled barbers. Walked in, and just let Alan do his own thing and it looks great. I'm very happy that I've just got a new barber forever. No one else will ever get to cut my hair or trim my beard, as I've never enjoyed it as much as I did here. Hate that the virus messes things up, but these guys are doing the right things to help keep everyone safe, all while doing amazing work. Just a very relaxed "old-school" family feeling barbershop. You just can't help but to like these guys and to feel like chatting. Even got a bit of beard education while here, advised of new combs and products to maintain a healthy styling beard. Will always be back! *AND, I don't say it often, but seriously think about these guys and any hairdresser/barber. Most people take for granted that you can be in and out in a few mins and continue with your day, but it is not an easy job for them. Challenge yourself to see if you can stand in a 4ft area for 8+ hours a day, hold your hands above your heart all day too, and then try avoiding getting carpal tunnel issues. Just remember this at the time you get to pay for the exceptional service and skills you were able to enjoy. I was not paid nor otherwise benefit from my comment, other than the joy of knowing I may get these awesome guys more clients.

The Mercantile Barber did an awesome job on James, my boyfriend! He absolutely loved the cut and hot shave. Unlike anything else he has experienced in Gaston County. Great Service, Cool Atmosphere, and reasonably priced! Highly Recommend!
