Hands down the worst barber experience I’ve ever had. I waited 10 minutes while the barber stood five feet away messing around on his phone, then he proceeded to text while cutting my hair. The entire haircut and beard trim was rushed through in about 12 minutes, and the results looked like it. Somehow I paid $60 for a sloppy, half-done cut that I could’ve 100% gotten better from a discount chain. Complete waste of time and money. I will never return to the Detroit Barber Shop on Maple in Birmingham. Maybe the dreads and texting while I waited should have been a sign he couldn't handle my thin blonde hair.

i got a messed up haircut from some other place, immediately left, called this place, they told me Darius will fit me in before they close, he fixed my hair up perfect. i went from having a half eaten mushroom haircut to people wanting a picture on the street because my hair looked so good. Darius didn’t care how long it took, didn’t give me any bad aura from me dropping in last minute with a difficult project. He’s definitely the best and if you can get a app with him do it.

Love this shop. Great location, on the fly or just to sit and relax. Excellent service…seems like they have reduced some prices as of late…not sure, but it seems like it. Excellent quality!

Amazing haircut with Julia Parrish at Detroit Barber in Birmingham. She does amazing work with her fades and taper cuts. Amazing top notch kids cuts on my kids. Both with long thick hair. Great kids cuts and textured cuts.

Never been in a barber shop for a beard trim before, but since my wedding was this weekend I knew I needed it done. Darius took care of me and gave me all the confidence in my look. Highly recommended.

After 7 years of keeping the same hairstyle (long, curly hair), the idea of moving to a much shorter cut with faded sides was as exciting as it was nerve-racking. Neco listened intently at what style I was going for, offered her suggestions for what she thinks works with my hair density and hairline, and absolutely killed the final result. She explained every step of the way, took her time (we were almost at twice the time limit by the end), and was overall so down to earth and reassuring. This is by far the best haircut I've had. Neco is an artist.

I was able to book an appointment within 15 minutes of calling. The barber I was assigned to did struggle a bit at first since my little one is on the spectrum, but she remained patient and managed to deliver the haircut I was hoping for. I’m definitely coming back!
