I've been to Max's twice now, and I really like it. The staff are friendly, and the haircuts are excellent - they take a little more time than the place I used to go, and it shows. Recommended.

Max always does a great job cutting my hair! The environment and atmosphere of the barbershop is perfect for children and adults. I always make an appointment on booksy.com to schedule my haircut, there are four barbers to choose from.

Just moved to the area and had trouble finding somewhere I liked to get my haircut. After a few tries at various places I figured I’d give Max’s barbershop a try. Absolutely loved it!

really disappointed. scheduled a haircut for my son at 1:15pm and arrived 5 minutes earlier. At 1:30pm still waiting and watched as new customers walked in and were helped before us without any acknowledgement to our situation. I asked why we weren't being helped despite having an appointment at 1:15pm and was simply told that we would be helped shortly later. I know 15 minutes (which was 20 minutes when we left) doesnt seem like much but it really screwed us up. I had to get back to work and would be late for an important meeting and consequently my 9 year old son, who was really excited for the scheduled "tapered fade", was crushed that we had to leave without getting the haircut. This would have been our first time at Max's. I hate to leave a bad review but there is no website or email to communicate this negative experience.

Store closes at 7pm, I walked in at 5:05pm and the barber was taking someone else. I sat and waited and then another gentleman walked in as well. We both waited for him to be finished and when he was he said he had somewhere to be and could not take us. I left the shop and was on the sidewalk, the barber in a green hoodie and black sweatpants walked to his car and sat in his car for 15 mins. Then left, seemed to really be in a rush to leave..

I’ve been going to Max’s Barbershop for over 7 years, and the service has been consistently 5 stars every single time. Max and his team are friendly, professional, and take real pride in their work. The atmosphere is relaxed but efficient, and I always leave with a great cut. It’s rare to find a place that’s this reliable, and I’m grateful to have them right here in Maynard. Highly recommend!

I brought my son to Max’s barber shop and I am beyond impressed and floored by his amazing skills, compassion and ease with my 7 yo with sensory issues. He was able to calm my son with his kind sense of humor, open conversation about school and fun topics and also checking in (with me and my son) to make sure that we are both happy with his first barbershop experience. I am not one to bogart any place, but I was pondering if I should write this review as I wouldn’t want ppl to flood into Maynard taking over our amazing town. Nonetheless, I have to share amazing experiences and skills when I have experienced it. Also I made an appt online- so that might help people of they would like to secure a spot as well. Thank you so much, Max!

I love this barbershop. Here is why you will too: 1. You know when you have a place to get your hair cut and it just feels right? I had that place in Philly for many years and had a hard time finding that again when I moved to New England. This place did it for me. I feel like I have a place again. 2. The shop is often full but that's for a good reason. The barbers do fantastic work and the atmosphere is filled with conversation and life. 3. Easy parking access if you are driving and prices are extremely reasonable. They only take cash though so bring some or you can use the ATM in the shop. Give this place a shot, it's great.
