I've gotten my 5th cut from Matt here and the dudes got crazy talent. Super consistent, good conversation and no "right after a cut awkward faze" -straight out of the door feeling good.

I go to Matt, the apprentice, and the cuts he gives are dialed in. All of these barbers remember their clients and their cuts and always make sure you leave satisfied. The vibes in the shop are fun and comfortable. Everyone talks and jokes and hangs out. It's a real experience and I always feel well taken care of. Pete is the best kind of funky and is clearly committed to making his shop the best in town. It seems like most guys coming through the shop are regulars, which speaks for itself. Pete's is great!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Pete for over 10 years now & this is my first time leaving a review. It’s hard to find the right words to describe such a great place. I’m always satisfied with the way Pete cuts my hair. I always leave the shop feeling great, confident, & refreshed. & it feels nice when people compliment me after getting a fresh cut. Above all, I enjoy the overall vibe of the shop. There’s always an uplifting atmosphere with the music playing in the background, & the joking around, & the talking about comics & movies. I’ve never had an experience like this anywhere else.

I've been going to Pete's for like 11 years now. I have gotten a haircut from every barber that's held a position there. All were phenomenal, all were exactly what I wanted. I don't often leave reviews anywhere, but of all the places I frequent, Pete's is the most deserving. I do admit there were times of infidelity where I had to cheat on Pete, whether it be I couldn't get an appointment soon enough, in recent years or previously, didn't want to wait for 3 hours during his Walk-In phase. Those other barbers never lived up to the vibe, service, or satisfaction that Pete's did. The place is an experience that's well worth my hard-earned cash and time it takes to commute to the shop. Great music, engaging conversations, and a collection of nerdy things and plants.

Pete's is the best barbershop in Chicago. Pete cuts my hair, but I'd be happy with any of the barbers. Everybody who comes to the shop is cool, and the atmosphere is welcoming to everyone. I've been a customer for over a decade.Hopefully, as Pete told me years ago "Don't worry, you'll be bald by the time I retire.", 'cause I don't want to get my hair cut anywhere else.

Long story short: one of the best Barbers out there. Johnny has been cutting my hair and beard since 2016 (8 years) and every time has been of stellar quality. On top of that, I look forward to our great conversations. I moved out of Chicago 2 years ago but still get my haircut when I am back. If you are in market for a Barber who can understand your needs, give you the best haircut in a great environment with awesome conversation, Johnny is your man!

After shaving my head for 5 years because i hated my hair, I let it grow out a little during COVID a decided to get a proper haircut again. So I went to Pete’s on recommendation of some friends. Johnny gave me the best haircut of my life and now 2 years later, I’m seeing him every two weeks and always leave Pete’s feeling great about my hair. Now, I couldn’t think about going anywhere else. He is a master of the fade, and I honestly have never gotten more compliments on my hair.

I’ve been going to Johnny at Pete’s for almost nine years - haircuts are consistently great, he’s always on time, remembers what I had done last time - easily the best haircut I’ve experienced and why I keep coming back. I might be nostalgic sometimes for the pre-pandemic days when there would be a half dozen people waiting and bantering over some beers while it was first come first served - but now the reservations through the app are easy and it’s great to know I can hit a specific appointment between meetings. Can’t recommend Pete’s enough!

Excellent shop that's well worth the price. Stop looking and book it! Johnny is an outstanding barber! He will give your hair all the time and attention it needs because he genuinely cares about giving you a great cut. Bonus: He does an amazing job with curly hair.

I’ve been going to Pete’s for about a decade at this point and that’s plenty of evidence for how I feel about his abilities cutting hair and advising clients on care plans. When I first visited, Pete gave me the basics around what makes a good haircut and style choice for my hair in his signature style and he hasn’t steered me wrong since. I’ve seen him provide that same advice to countless individuals with unique hair types and it’s clear he legitimately wants his clients to look good and feel good about their grooming. Those first few cuts back then proved his skills as a barber and made me confident I’d found someone I can trust.
