Mario’s is great! All of the guys are friendly. It’s a great neighborhood spot with resonable prices.

Owner's response

Thank you Brendan for the kind words. Happy to have you as a client.

Great neighborhood barbershop! Been in business 38-years! Always have good memories here and a fun place to drop in for a haircut. They do appointments too which is cool.

Super nice and great customer service. The shop has great vibes and is probably my new staple. I made the mistake of going to great clips before and they fixed the mess that great clips created. Would highly recommend.

Owner's response

Thanks Connor. Great to meet you and take care of business for you.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to Lincoln Park 9 years ago. Now that I have moved to the suburbs, I still make a point to come to Mario’s to get my hair cut every 2 weeks. These guys have always gone above and beyond to make sure that this is a welcoming environment, give a great haircut, and can always be counted on for a lot of good laughs. This place is a staple in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and have become more like family than anything. Mike is my guy, but Mario, Jay, and Jack are also amazing. Cash only, but they have an ATM on site!

I’ve been here a few times now. It was convenient because I live across the street. My haircut has been really inconsistent. The younger guy, I think it’s the owners son, has always given a decent cut. But the last time I went I had the older man cut my hair and it felt very rushed and an entire section of my hair was not even touched. I didn’t notice until I got home and washed my hair. The front right section was left nearly an inch longer than the rest.. It was honestly one of the worst cuts I have ever received. For 30 bucks plus tip it felt very over priced for the time and attention given to my cut. Unfortunately I will not be returning because of the sloppy work and have found a new barber in the neighborhood.

Best barber shop in Chicago. Mike (Mario's son) gives a great cut and the atmosphere is second to none. A family business that has stood the test of time. Organized a neck shave for all of my groomsmen the morning of my wedding and Mario, Mike and Jason showed us a great time and we all looked incredibly fresh heading into the big day. Definitely recommend!

A great place for a reasonably priced hair-cut. All of the barbers are nice and fun to talk to. They're always busy on the weekends though so while you might get lucky with walking-in I would suggest making an appointment. They usually have donuts on Saturdays too!

Can't say enough about Mario's - I've been coming here since I moved to Chicago and I won't be getting my hair cut anywhere else as long as I can help it. Mike - in particular, does a phenomenal job matching my vision with his cuts. I can honestly say I haven't had a complaint about a single haircut he's given me in 2+ years of patronage. Everyone should come here if they're looking for a stylish, appropriately valued haircut.

If you are looking for the true barber shop experience, this is the place for you. Regulars are greeted as family and new customers are welcomed with open arms. Wild conversations, jokes and a bit of friendly gossip are always flowing... With one exception, you never really know what to expect. That exceprion: The best dang haircut you've ever had!
