jake gave my hair life again. he listened and understood what i wanted right away. absolutely perfect. cant wait to go back. fun vibe here too. honestly best barbershop ive ever been to. thank you jake!

Haha, my hair is naturally curly and I’ve been wearing that style for years… The photo I showed you is from last year. I wasn’t late for the appointment. I actually arrived 10 minutes early, and I even have the message showing when I paid for parking. You weren’t busy and you told me to sit down right away. It’s not my intention to leave bad reviews. I finished hairdressing school and I know very well how customers should be treated. I left a 15% tip, which is more than fair on my side, and below the minimum on yours.

1. You came in late for your appointment. 2. Your hair hasn't been combed for months, as it was full of knots and was clearly uncared for. 3. You don't speak a word of English so that's always a hurdle to any interaction. 4. You show me a picture of you from literally 10 years ago and have to go on AI chat to tell me you want that exact haircut. 5. As I was cutting your hair you were in front of a mirror, so you had a full view of how your haircut was going, you never said a word. 6. The finished haircut was shown to you multiple times and each time you gave a thumbs up and a smile. 7. You left the shop on good terms and with a smile, not acting at all like anything was wrong. 8. Please start combing your hair and please find another shop to give bad reviews to....

I’ve been coming to Joe’s Barbershop Chicago for years and it just keeps getting better. Joe Jr.’s attention to detail is second to none - every cut is done with care, consistency, and pride. I also love that they offer free beer and the conversations are always great at the shop. They have easy online booking with each barber's availability. You’re always treated like family and walk out looking your best. A true Chicago institution.

Joe’s Barbershop Chicago is closing in on 60 years in business and it shows in every detail. Third-generation barber Joe Jr. is doing it right, carrying on what he was taught by his father and keeping the tradition alive the way it should be. His attention to detail is next level and every visit feels personal, not rushed. The free beer is always a nice touch, online appointments are easy to book, and having free parking right outside makes the whole experience even better. You’re treated like family and leave looking right every time. A true Chicago institution that won’t disappoint.

Jake R is the man! Fantastic barber in every sense of the word. Knows his craft, beard and hair. Never had a bad haircut from this dude. I’m an actor and Jake has helped me shape my hair and beard in a variety of styles of the years, and he never misses. I literally went to him on my wedding day before the ceremony to clean me up. 10/10

Ratings don't address conflicting reviews. I had a terrible experience with Pedro but a great experience with Chanin. So I have to give only a 3 star. Made an appointment with Pedro for 11:45. He had a client when I arrived 5 minutes early. He knew I was waiting but didn't say a word (no apologies). At 12:05 I asked Chanin, who was siting next to me, if he was busy and could he cut my hair. He enthusiastically said yes and gave me a haircut that matched my instructions/expectations. Throughout my haircut with Chanin, Pedro remained silent but I had a great conversation with Chanin. Future patrons, book with Chanin, don't book with Pedro.

Joe’s got a great barber when they hired Jake recently. He’s cut my hair for over 10 years now and although sadly we don’t live in the same town anymore, I will always make the trip to see him when I’m in his city for a cut. Super great dude who puts a lot of care into his work.
