Alba G is excellent. I switched to her from another Floyds location. Great move ! She gives a great cut and provides professional service. She is excellent with small details that most other stylists overlook. She makes sure you are 100% saisfied before you leave.....she has been a great "find" for me, highly recomend.

I wasn't immediately greeted when I walked in and I initiated the hello. The cut was fine, I guess, but when I looked up the Floyd cut it looked much different than what I got. I declined the shampoo because I just wanted to leave. There was a brief line of questioning in which my barber kept asking how I found myself at this particular Floyd's. Like damn can't a guy leave his hood to find a good cut? Short answer I guess I should stay in my hood. The lighting is dim and the seats are too far from the mirror it's hard to see the work. Especially when so little hair is cut off your head. The good news is they offered me a free touch up which I'm declining because I fixed it myself and why the hell would I go back? So, really ask yourself if a $50 haircut is what you want. I'll just keep cutting my own hair, thank you. Update: The owner commented on my review and left an email to follow up. I asked for a refund and never heard anything back. So there goes their customer service for ya! They're not interested in making things right.

I can not believe I just paid 62$ for this haircut. I dont leave reviews often but this place did so bad that I am in an absolute disbelief… Don’t risk it, absolutely not worth it. Again, worst experience ever… Edit: I literally have to come back to this review and edit it because I can not express how bad my experience here was…

I came in the day before family pics and was nervous how the cut would go, but I was in great hands with Kai. They were so easy to talk to and knowledgeable about what was best for my hair type and goals. I will definitely come back to see Kai for my next cut!

Getting your haircut as a trans person can be a sticky situation at times, but when I walk into the Clybourn Floyd’s, I receive warm service that makes me feel at ease and comfortable in the space. I’m always promptly and pleasantly greeted. It’s also awesome to see multiple fellow queer people working there <3 Happy Pride yall. I’ve had Kai as my stylist the last few times I’ve gotten my haircut, and it’s been a great experience every time. Every appointment has started on time (or early in most cases!) Kai takes the time to understand what my goals are for the service, asks questions for clarity, and even makes personalized recommendations based on my grow pattern, texture, etc. Also I want to stress that there are little things that can make all the difference in helping a trans person receive an affirming experience getting their haircut. —Asking how short I want to go with the sides on my mullet —Asking if I want my sideburns cleaned up or left alone. I cannot even express just how shocking it was to once have a stylist buzz them off without asking. I guess it would be like cutting off someone’s rat tail without asking, or giving them bangs they didn’t ask for lol. —Cleaning up my neckline with the hot lather razor shave (SO affirming every time omg) —Offering tailored product suggestions with hands-on instructions. That way I know how to upkeep the style after the service and feel as good as I did walking out of the salon as I do walking out of my house. Yall are great. Keep on doing your thing, because you’re doing it right.

I'm giving this two stars instead one star because the haircut itself was pretty good. Unfortunately, the before and after was not. First, I made a 5:30pm appointment at this location with a specific stylist and then was texted shortly before that there would be a 20-minute delay. When I got there I was then told it would actually be a 30-minute delay, and I could either wait or have another stylist cut my hair. I didn't have the time to wait 30 minutes so I went with the other stylist. Then, for the first time, after being a frequent Floyd's customer, I was told by the front desk attendant that I would be charged an extra $7 because my hair was supposedly too long. This was sprung on me AFTER my haircut, not before. My hair might be a little thicker, but it doesn't go beyond my mid-ear. And the cut I got was just a light trim. I didn't feel like arguing so I paid it. Unfortunately, with the combination of the delayed appointment and the overcharge, I'll probably not use this Floyd's again.

It was excellent! I was a walk-in and I was taken care of in minutes. My stylist was very skilled and asked all the questions needed to get it right. Very pleasant experience. Thank you!

Aside from a particular stylist at the river north location, I’ve always had great experiences with Floyd’s which is why I wanted to try the closest location after I moved to Bucktown. Veronica was very kind and professional and gave so much attention to detail for texturing my hair(a simple short men’s cut). Veronica provided fantastic value for the time and money spent. Service like hers is why I’ll continue visiting Floyd’s.

Laurie was very nice. I asked for her help with blending my hair so that I could continue growing it out and she gave me some recommendations. I will be back. The chair was a little dirty still when I got there but that was just a minor complaint.

Everyone is very professional and I feel that I am in good hands regardless of who cuts my hair. They also have a great range of products including their own texture powder. Makes a world of a difference! My favorite Floyd’s location.
