Ok, so I know we don't talk about Bruno, but let me tell you about the adventure! The taking of my hairginity was by Steve who was gregarious, studied, and a good ear! He provided the type of experience that you can only get at real barber shops! Great banter and the atmosphere is incredible as there are all kinds of art and pictures of amazing sailing ships! And being a true Bear fan, Steve gave me a great meme for my Green Bay family with the new Pope decked out in Bears attire with a score underneath saying Chicago Popes - 01 Green Bay Popes - 00😂 Steve and his crew have lots of experience with all hair types from kids to adults and men and women. Great local Barbary, Staff, and filled with charm! Make sure to call ahead, although they will attend to walk-ins as well!

Update Fall '23: Havn't been back in a while since I live and work much farther away, but little has changed when it comes to the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the cut. Had my hair cut by Alex, who did a phenomenal job. Wife is very, very pleased. Managed to cut it in a way that hides some of the thinning up top that looks absolutely natural and great. Price is up a little to $25, which is still crazy low given the inflation of the last few years. 5 stars still in my book. Original Review: Wonderful haircuts, great nautical decor. A real, authentic neighborhood barbershop. Owner is a great guy, super nice and polite. Some of the barbers don't speak a ton of english, but they unerstand it just fine. I think they speak polish, so you can talk to them in polish instead if you prefer. Also, to mention-- great value. Price is very reasonable for the quality of the haircut. And, the place doesn't reek of cigarette smoke either! Parking is in the back, ad though its tight quarters, I havn't ever had trouble getting a spot somewhere. I drive past 4 barbershops to get there, because it is just about the best haircut you'll get in the area, especially for less that 20 bucks!

Best barber shop in the United States, probably the world. I'm from New Jersey, yet I consider this place as my barber shop. Steve is a master craftsman, and the rest of the staff is great as well. Next time I'm in Chicago, this place is a mandatory stop.

Great place. Appointment only, but were ready for me 15 minutes earlier. Good job on beard trim and straight razor shave. Will definitely come back for a haircut

I found this barbershop on google and since we just moved I thought I would try it out. Since the pandemic I have tried to support smaller local businesses and this was a perfect place. From what google and Yelp said they close at 6pm. I arrived at 4:45pm but I was on the phone. I looked inside and noticed that someone was receiving a haircut and no one was waiting inside. I decided to continue my phone conversation outside as to not disturb older lady giving the haircut. Around 5:20pm she walks to the door and locks it. I asked, "are you closing?" She responded "no" so I continued my phone call. The call ended around 5:25pm and I tried to open the door, an its locked. I thought maybe she wanted to limit the people inside so I waited until she let the other person out and as I walked toward the door she said they are closed and that they close at 5pm.... I tried to plea with her because I very much need a haircut but she brushed me off. No where does it say they close at 5pm, I asked if she was closing, and I was obviously waiting. I wasted almost an hour because I was being courteous. I am fighting the urge to be extremely rude because all I wanted to do is get a haircut, while being courteous with my phone call and support a local businesses but this is what always happens. Closing early for no reason is just lazy and it shows that you don't value customers or local customers at that. So unfortunately, I have to spend my money with corporation. Just hold yourself to the standard you set and stay open until 6pm like you say you are...

The best! My son's hair is always on point! We personally love Frank and Steve, but I hear from family and friends that all the staff are great. Fyi: There are two locations; the Niles location has a parking lot in the rear; no longer cash only, now able to take cc or apps.

First time getting a hair cut here, and definitely coming back again. Very happy with the result, excellent job! Classic straight razor finish! Now, that is old school barber shop style, love it! Excellent pricing, however they are cash only, so come prepared.
