Got my first haircut in the neighborhood from Alder, the owner of AP Barbershop, and it was an awesome experience. I came in for a simple drop fade and beard trim, and left not only with a great cut but also feeling like I’d made a new friend. Alder really takes his time to understand what you want and delivers with care and precision — never rushed, always focused. I also appreciated the cleanliness and professionalism (he even wears gloves). Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to AP Barbershop for over three years now, and cannot stress the quality and customer satisfaction I have received here! Alder always goes above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied with my haircut (I usually do a low taper fade), definitely give them a try if you’re looking to upgrade from your mid barber!

Such a Hidden gem in Albany Park! Always very clean and AC that actually works in this heat. Best fades in the city AND family friendly? Definitely great service overall 🙏

I'm a new client to Alder. His studio space gives a calming environment and he's very thorough with his haircuts. Before my cut I spoke to him about a vision of my cutwhile also showing him an image of a similar cut online. In the hour, this man delivered. And to be quite honest, I've had my fair share of Barbers that would really have difficulty with my leveling my side burns or giving me unbalanced cuts. With one session, he restored me back to my handsome self. Since then, I've been a regular. He's a real one and pretty professional in his craft.

I had the best haircut experience in Chicago! My barber was incredibly skilled and took his time to ensure the perfect cut. He was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Definitely a must-try in Chicago!

Alder is very professional, clean, and pays attention to detail. I’m glad we found him. Our kids love their haircuts every time we go there. Prices are affordable, the place is clean and the ambiance is really pleasant, all the staff is very friendly. I would recommend Alder to my friends and family.

Alder has been my barber since 2013, and it’s almost 2025. I do not trust no one else but him! What ever shop he moves to, I tag along! I actually live like 40 minutes away but always worth the drive back. He is excellent and can do whatever you desire. AND he is a great friend. I always get my haircut, eyebrows and graphics and ladies love it! Pricey but I’m paying for quality 👍🏼

Had a haircut with Alder a few days ago. I’m a new client, and he helped put me at ease, and made sure the whole process was collaborative. I brought an image of a hairstyle I liked on my phone and showed it to him. He made sure to ask me at different points to check how I’m liking the cut. He adjusted when I asked. Alder is super professional and very passionate about his work. My hair texture lean more toward 4a, and it’s been hard to find barbers who know how to cut my hair type. I’m happy with my new haircut, and will definitely back. Thanks, Alder! ✌🏽
