Just got a haircut from Edgar and had an awesome experience. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and absolutely nailed it. The cut looks great. Avila’s does a fantastic job every time I go

I’ve been to this barber shop a few times, and while the haircuts themselves are fine, the scheduling and time management are consistently disappointing. Every visit, I end up waiting 15–20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before being seen. At that point, it doesn’t really feel like an appointment - more like a suggestion. I value punctuality and respect for customers’ time, so this has been frustrating enough for me to look elsewhere. (Posting under an alias for privacy.)

Reynaldo provides amazing service and even better haircuts! He is attentive to my requests and I always walk out feeling great about my experience at Avila’s!

Reynaldo is very talented at cutting hair and such a kind person. I’ve been going to him for over a year, and I don’t trust anyone else to cut my kids’ hair. Every time he cuts their hair, I’m extremely satisfied. He is very precise, professional, and his work is always clean.

This place was great. I called in and asked if they took walk-ins and they do. I got a great razor fade from a nice lady who made all the adjustments that I asked for and I was more than happy to give a 30% percent tip. It can be so hard to find a decent barber that knows what their doing at times, so I was extremely appreciative of their service. They aren't talkative like other barbers, but that was ok, as they had some entertainment to watch on television and they knew how to cut hair. Everyone seemed experienced and the atmosphere was perfect.

This unassuming place in the mall offers great cuts for a solid value. My son and I’ve tried nearly all the barbers here and most are solid but Edgar is a true superstar. Edgar wields his razor with masterclass mastery. He is fast, efficient, precise and versatile. Need a zero fade with room on the top. Edgar’s got your back. A high and tight cut that feels adult and classy. Edgar’s got your back. Eyebrows bushy and need some shaping. Edgar’s got your back. Show him what you want. Lean back and let Edgar go to work. Your hair and handsomeness will thank you. Also bite on weekends they are almost always a little behind so expect to wait a bit.

Not the best place to get a haircut. I've tried Isaac, Lupita, Isaias, and Edgar. For reference, I've asked for a "mid-fade to skin" haircut each time I have visited. I've also returned and given plenty "second" chances (Jan 2024-June 2024 -- 6 months of visiting + haircut every 3-4 weeks). Isaac & Lupita are great. They get the fade/haircut right and have no issues there. They are very consistent. Isaac can sometimes take a while with a client even after setting up an appointment. Edgar & Isaias are very nice, but they often cut hair very short (when I ask for a quarter inch off the top). They also give a very high fade (**bald line above eyebrows**) when I ask for a "midfade to skin." I attached photos for reference. You can also see straight lines where the attempted fade was. After 6 months of visiting Avila's, there are a lot of issues with: 1. Barbers being on time for haircuts even after setting up appointments in advance. I would book appointments right when they open so that I don't wait 30min-1hr later in the day. 2. Barbers giving accurate haircuts. I think this issue isn't unique to the shop (I've seen it at plenty other spots), but it's still frustrating to get a "sports clips" level haircut for such a high price. They also recently upped their "razor fade" price to $40 (used to be $30 until January 2024, then $35 until June 2024, now its $40), so I won't be returning anymore.

Poor service. Awful haircut! Me and my son decided to use this barbershop last week. Staff was not interested in our business and would have preferred us to leave. They Claimed to be busy but had 3 barbers and only one client. After 20 minutes or so they cut my sons hair. The hair cut was sloppy and uneven. Plus old hair was not removed before our cut.

One of the best barber shops I’ve been to! Good prices, on time with appointments, clean, and respectable. Never seen anyone walk out with a cut i wouldn’t want. Isaias is my barber and he does a great job every time, obviously very skilled. The hot towel at the end is a great finishing touch 👍
