Waited at the place for 2 hours just to have the workers mess around and do other men’s haircuts. Very obvious that they didn’t want to cut my son’s hair by their comments and gestures. Will not be going back here ever again.

I wouldnt recommend this shop. Took my son there despite reading some bad reviews which are exactly as described. Some rude barbers and overall very disrespectful of the community.

I don’t know what type of business they are running. They are extremely rude and push away new business. “Mi Genta” means “my people” (Dominican slang). What a huge joke. Verbatim: me: I’m not from the area, any experienced barbers available? Berber: c’mon man, go somewhere else. Hangs up. Do not recommend to anyone.

I decided to try a new barber so I found Mi Gente Barbershop. I first had trouble booking on line so I decided to do a walk in. When I arrived the gentleman Barber ask for my name. There were two Barbers and a stylist on site. The two Barbers were busy with two male customers and it would be awhile until I got my cut. The male Barber asked me if I wanted to utilize the stylist. I said no I wanted a Barber. I must have waited over an hour for a Barber. The younger barber cut my hair. He was very understanding of what I wanted but failed to clean up my neck. When I got home I tried my best to clean up my neck. The Barber staff was very disorganized from what I could see. I also asked for a hot towel and was denied due to their machine being broken down. Unfortunately I went from one bad Barber shop to another. I definitely will not return to Mi Gente Barbershop.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences at mi gente on Smokey and I love everything about the shop. This was my first time at the location by Hinkley and I don’t mean anything personal towards my barber or the shop, but definitely the worst haircut experience I’ve had outside of a great clips back in 2016. I got a haircut which I didn’t ask for and had my mullet chopped off when I asked for it to stay. I also received 4 cuts to my face and neck from the straight edge that made me bleed and that are visible in the photos attached. My barber was a great guy and I realize he was relatively new but this was a very below par experience for me. I will still recommend my friends and family in aurora to get their hair cut at mi gente, just recommend that they don’t do a walk in and they come in shop with a photo of exactly what they want.

Always a great experience when I get my undercut fade from these guys. Usually do a walk in, don't have to wait long at all. Love the atmosphere. Great price too for the amazing work I get.

Just had a beard trim/cut yesterday. I didn’t catch the kids name that took great care of me but he did an outstanding job. I’ve been to been to barber shops that charge alot of money but with poorer results than what I got from Mi Gente barber shop. Definitely going to be a regular customer! Thank you for treating me well!!!

Husband went in as a walk in, the barbers seemed to only be taking their friends in by the looks of their interactions and the way they ignored the other clients who were also waiting for a cut. MAJOR Edgar central, take that as you’d like. There was only one guy who knew how to cut curly hair too, and it wasn’t as well done as I had to correct it. The reason it’s 3 stars and not 2 is because it’s not poorly priced.

My husband and son have been going to this location since it was Roosters, then Smoky Hill barbershop. We made an appointment when it became Mi Gente barbershop thinking it would still be a high level of quality, and they received no service as walk ins were taken in and serviced in front of them. Very disrespectful and they left after almost 30 minutes of this. Being hispanic, I was happy to support this business, but I'm very disappointed at the lack of professionalism and customer care.
