5 stars - best cuts in town. I’ve been to plenty of barbershops over the years, but Johnny D’s is on a whole different level. Johnny take his time, listen to what you want, and deliver sharp, clean cuts every single time. The attention to detail, the friendly service, and the pride they take in their work really set this place apart. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier cut.

I’ve been coming to Jonny D for a few years now and wouldn’t change. Great, clean, professional cut every time. Better than anywhere else I’ve been to in the area. Highly recommend!

The experience was awful. First of all, the barber wasn't opening the door until I asked someone who worked there to help me out. Then I said to him I want you to cut HALF INCH on my sides and cut my front hair right above my eyebrows then he said ok. After that, he turned me away from the mirror just to watch freaking TV. I thought ok maybe that's how he's working, but then he started eating in front of me. Eventually, I felt like my side hair was falling apart, and after that moment, I was suspicious about his work. Then, some people came to his office, and he started talking to them even though he should have cut my hair. As a result, he finally turned me to the mirror, and I was speechless how badly it was. I was about to cry because of this horrible work. I saw my sides just chopped, and it was THE worst experience I ever had. And I paid 50 bucks for this. Thank you for making my hair so worst.

Terrible service - never go there or send your kids! The barber Jonny ignored my son’s request, distracted him with the TV, and did whatever he wanted. My son only wanted a slight trim for his long, curly hair, but she cut it way too short. Now he’s crying and extremely disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all!

It’s a terrible, terrible service. Never go there, and never send your kids. The barber Jonny just didn’t listen to my son. He ignored what my son was telling him and turned him away from the mirror to the TV, doing whatever he wanted instead of following instructions. He didn’t pay attention at all. In the end, my son came home looking completely different from what we had asked for. He only wanted a slight trim he has curly, long hair but she cut it way too short. Now my child is at home crying and extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this place at all. It was a horrible experience.

I recently visited Jonny D Barber Shop on 5th St in Santa Monica and overall, I had a good experience. The prices were very reasonable and I appreciated the value for the quality of service provided. The barbers were friendly and attentive, and while the haircuts were decent, they were not the best I've ever had. That being said, I was still satisfied with the end result and appreciated the attention to detail. The atmosphere of the shop was relaxed and casual, which I found to be very comfortable. There were plenty of magazines and TV shows to pass the time while waiting for my turn in the chair. Overall, while I wouldn't say that Jonny D Barber Shop provides the best haircuts in Santa Monica, the prices and quality of service are definitely worth considering. For these reasons, I give Jonny D Barber Shop a solid 4-star rating.

I’ve been going to Jonny for about 3 years now. I’ve had a lot of barbers but honestly, he’s the most solid and consistent barber I’ve ever been to. He’s fixed jacked up haircuts for me, done complete restyles, and done maintenance cuts. He’s great with all of them. I always look forward to getting my hair cut with him. Cannot recommend him enough.

Jonny has been my go to barber since I moved to LA. Not only is his work product fantastic, he is also a great guy and cares on a personal level about his clients. I get consistently awesome cuts / fades here and he remembers exactly what I’m looking for each time. Not to mention his pricing is far better than most barbershops in the area. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best barber I have met. Once you meet Jonny, it’s clear that his heart and passion is truly in making his clients feel confident about their hair and beard. My hair is complicated due to my curls and I’ve gone through at least 20 barbers until Jonny got it right. Also, Jonny is always in a good mood and spreads positive energy that is contagious. You will leave feeling ready for your day or evening.
