I ended up with multiple visible cuts from the lineup, and the barber was extremely heavy-handed, constantly rag-dolling my head. His attitude didn’t help either.

My daughter turned me onto this place where she had my grandson‘s hair cut… My hair was recovering from the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my whole life, which was done in a beauty shop … Shanna Was able to even everything out and give me the cutest haircut that I think I have ever had… She listened to my tale of woe and she fixed it.. She’s now cut my hair twice and both times it was wonderful… easy to care for , falls into place With just my fingers.. everything layered just right… and the ambience is welcoming and fun

Absolutely avoid Amelia, worst haircut I’ve received in years. Owner is a nice guy and tried to make it better but the lack on communication/accountability and entitlement by staff was insane. Go to Lincoln Barbers you'll get a much better haircut and service.

Been coming here every month for 5 years since I first moved to LA. Shanna is one of the best barbers I’ve had, gifted with the clippers (at a reasonable price)!!! Shanna and the owner Xavier always keep a safe, clean, and light-hearted atmosphere in the shop. Xavier and his wife are a great part of the community, they live in Sanmo, and are deeply involved in local philanthropy and community efforts. I would give them 15 stars if I could.

Oh my goodness. I would give 10 out of 5 to this kind business if I could. What a wonderful experience. Beautiful conversation while I received the most precise cut I’ve gotten in my life. It’s a pity I’m just visiting or this would be my spot indefinitely. Will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know in Cali.

I live in the neighborhood and like to give local places a try. I called ahead and they said they took walk-ins and it was pretty slow at the moment so I walked right over. Xavier is a nice, welcoming guy, and also a major character. I had mentioned I was into fishing and he offered for me to join him on a chartered boat open water fishing trip. I am sure he’s a legend in the community. While the experience was nice, unfortunately I didn’t get the haircut I wanted. I had let it grow pretty shaggy and needed to get cleaned up to get ready for some new business opportunities. He did a fine job sheering the sides and back but he barely touched the top. He then showed me the mirror like we were done and I asked him to cut the top. I don’t know if he doesn’t like using scissors or what, but he gave me a few brief snips, mainly on the front and said we were good. People were now waiting and I could tell he wanted to wrap it up. I then asked him to trim my sideburns, which were uneven and still pretty long. He said something about my eyebrows and then proceeded to STRAIGHT UP CLIPPER MY EYEBROWS half the way off. I was flabbergasted. He said something to the effect that they would grow back in two days. It’s been 5 days and I can testify that they have not. One person at work the next day asked me if I had bleached my eyebrows! Then, when we moved on to the final neck trim he was so rough with the clipper that that there is still a visible rash several days later. Finally, the sign in front of the shop advertises $30 mens’ cuts, and he charged the guy ahead of me and me both $40. For those four reasons I will likely not be back.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I have to give this place 5 stars, the barber has such an amazing character and loves to keep you entertained and laughing while cutting your hair. He makes sure you are satisified and happy with your cut and he even shaved my face for free. 10/10 best barber especially for his price. I love supporting local business!

Had to hop on here and show love to Xavier for giving me a killer cut last Monday. I stepped in the shop at 5pm just as he was closing up, however he quickly let me grab a spot in the chair and knew exactly what to do. The atmosphere is very laid back, his two sons were hanging out too. Happy to support a small family-owned business like this. If you're in SM and need a quality cut, Xavier is your guy! Will be back in a few weeks.

Nice guy but asked for a gentleman’s cut so I can slick back my hair. When finished I just asked if he can cut a little off the top but ended up being majority of my hair. My hair looks the same length from all sides and the top can’t even be slicked back. Lastly my sideburns weren’t finished. I will have to go to another spot to see if it’s possible to fix.
