Jon is a really good barber that listens to how you want your hair. I appreciate how reasonable his prices are for such quality. I drove by his business for the past year seeing the shop swamped with people and I ended up driving away because I didn't have much time to wait. However, I finally was fed up with the other barbers I've tried over the past year and a half and decided to finally stop to Jon's Barber Shop. There were 6 people ahead of me and I only had to wait 30 minutes to get into the chair for my turn. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to make my hair just like what I showed him. I'll be back as I finally found a quality barber in the area.

Old school barber, nostalgic, and an experienced quick cut- this place takes you back to the things you first loved about Tacoma. No pride flags or surprise hikes in prices. Just a good ol' boy working for a living. This is a good Tacoma service and my son will probably go to Jon as long as he stays open on 6th Ave. Jon gave my son a good fade, a good easy quick cut that matched what my son had in mind.

Now, this place is the real deal. Yeah, it's full of boomers. (Like me!) Yeah, it's on the older side. No, it's not fancy. However, if you want a GREAT haircut, this is the place. I was shocked. I waited maybe 30 minutes. During the wait, I spoke to several customers who've been coming for years. There was lively banter on topics like fishing, boat engines, groceries, why Tacoma is way better than Seattle, why Washington is way better than California, how I-5 is still a mess, what a gorgeous day it was, and everything. Everyone left satisfied with a nice cut. With the short wait, it was finally my turn. I got up in the chair, and Jon asked me what I wanted. I told him I'd been to fancy barbers, fancy salons, the PX. I described what i wanted that probably made no sense and then said, "Please just help me." 15 minutes later, I was done and very happy because I finally had a nice clean haircut. The price was amazing, and I was out of there for $20 with a tip. I absolutely will come back.

Not fancy but great old school Barber who cuts 'em fast and cheap. Official Barber of Western Washington Baseball Umpires and most baseball coaches and sports people in Tacoma. 65+ discount, Veterans discounts. Great Tacoma Small Business.

Best haircut in town. I went to Jon as a kid, moved away for 10+ years and then came back and he's just as good as before. Glad to have an old school barber in town! Thanks Jon for serving the greater Tacoma area!

Jon's a great guy and gives a great haircut. I'm a senior, so he only charges seniors $12. My only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because he doesn't take appointments. Everything is walk in only. But he's very fast, so the wait isn't to long.

Came here today for the first time to get my 8 year old son a haircut. While waiting, about five or six more people came in. He’s popular so go early! He’s quick but still does an awesome job. Prices can’t be beat (bring cash, he’s cash only). Really nice guy. Super happy with this place, and we’ll be back!

Jon’s a 1 man show and cash only to pay. He’s closed on Monday usually. Walk in appointment only. Weekends are busiest. I’ve been going to him for years.
