Leah and her dog Lulu were the best experience I've had at a barbershop here. Thank you, Leah, for being so friendly and giving me an amazing haircut.

Nora has been my hair stylist for 4 years and she’s the best! Super professional, great at what she does, and always a fun conversation. Love the convenient location and selection of styling products.

I've gone to various Rudy's over the years, but the Ballard shop is my favorite and Yoko is my favorite barber.

Rudy’s is great, specifically Hilary W. Hilary always takes care of me, taking notes on where I want my hair to end up, how it grows, etc. I didn’t know hair needed an analytical approach but the consistency in fantastic results speaks for itself. No matter what style I request, she makes sure I look great and know how to style the look.

Been going here for about a year. I always have a good experience and am happy with results, but special shout out to Liberty (and the front desk for recommending her) for fixing a botched job that I'd had done elsewhere. Left feeling whole again!
Owner's response
JJ! Thank you for taking the time to leave us and Liberty a 5 star review. We are so thrilled to hear that you are loving your time with her. See you at your next cut!

Booked online and received a great cut same-day. Love the convenience and professionalism (with that trademark Rudy’s grit) I receive at Rudy’s. Nora was awesome and I’ll definitely be back soon.

Quick Summary: I’ve had consistently disappointing experiences at the Ballard Rudy’s location, and my most recent visit, where a stylist (Anna) ripped an earring out of my ear and didn’t apologize, was the final. Overall poor quality haircuts (ranging from $45-65), uncomfortable environment (hot/bar accessible through shop), and unprofessional staff. I recommend going to the Capitol Hill Rudy’s on E. Pine instead! Full Review: I get haircuts regularly (every 2–3 weeks), and after moving from Capitol Hill to Ballard, I gave this Rudy’s location a fair shot. Unfortunately, every visit has been underwhelming/of poor quality, and my last appointment on 07/08 officially ended it for me. I booked a last-minute cut with Anna before my birthday dinner that day. I hadn’t worked with her before but just needed a simple cleanup and had a quick question about a men’s fade drop for my two-toned hair. From the start, she seemed short and irritated, like my question was a burden/bothersome. I brushed it off, thinking maybe she was having a bad day which I can understand. She then insisted on washing my hair, saying I had “hat hair.” I had already washed it with my own products (I have bleach blond, wavy hair), and I’d only worn a hat for five minutes before walking in. I always do this prior to my appointment because of my hair type.. however she insisted and she is the barber so I went to the bowl. During the rough shampoo, I felt a sharp tug on my ear. One of her chunky rings caught my earring, but I couldn’t really feel what happened until I stood up and realized my ear was throbbing, and one of my cartilage piercings was missing. I told her what happened, and she immediately brushed it off, saying, “I don’t think so, it’s still in your ear.” When I pointed out that I have two piercings and one was clearly missing, she glanced at the sink and casually said, “Oh, it’s probably down the drain now. I wish you had said something sooner.” No apology. No concern. No accountability. Just deflection and dismissal. That was enough for me to be frustrated, I walked out. I told the front desk staff that she accidentally ripped my earring out and that I was leaving. I did not speak with anyone else at that time. Not only did I have to replace the earring (I can’t wear just any cartilage piercing either, so it wasn’t cheap), but I left in pain and completely frustrated by the lack of basic decency. I did try contacting a manager through the Rudy’s Capitol Hill (E. Pine location) - this is where I used to go and felt more comfortable contacting. But staff there informed me that I would have to talk with the Ballard manager who was currently on vacation. I did give my information to them but at this point, I don’t need a follow-up, I just won’t be back. This review will suffice. Other notes: The shop is hot with poor air circulation. The front desk staff are mostly inattentive and more focused on chatting with coworkers than greeting clients. There is a bar next door that is accessible from inside the shop so sometimes it is loud. If you do end up at this location for some odd reason, here are the barbers I’ve tried, ranked by my experience with them: 1. Nora 2. Liberty 3. Hyeri However, the cuts were not of high quality from these individuals either and I overall would spend $65 somewhere else. I cannot recommend Anna at all. Her demeanor was unwelcoming from the start, and her shampooing caused me physical harm. More concerning than the piercing incident was her complete lack of accountability or basic decency following it. Overall, terrible customer service skills. I can’t speak to her barber skills, as I chose to leave before we got that far. Your best bet? Go to Capitol Hill on E. Pine. Zaylee and Gabriel are amazing and worth the trip. Ballard just doesn’t measure up.

KC has been such a wonderful barber! I'm still figuring my own look out, and she's been great giving me guidance, advice, and product recommendations. She did a great job cutting my hair and trimming/shaping my beard. Outside of her great services, she's such a gem to talk to every time I go.
Owner's response
Adam! Thank you so much for the kind words and 5 stars. We're happy to hear KC has been able to help you find your style. Catch you next time :)

I NEEDED an updated look and Allie came through! She asked some questions, actually listened to me and totally nailed it! I love the new style and feel great. Definitely an asset to Ballard and looking forward to my next appointment.

Anna A has become my hair person. I have longish curly hair and finding someone who can make it look great has been a struggle. Multiple strangers have complemented my hair in passing and it always makes my day. I've been using their shampoo and conditioner as well as styling cream and it's been pretty great! The place is clean, and I always enjoy visiting Ballard. For sure will be back!
Owner's response
Thanks for the kind words! Anna is awesome!
