I never write reviews but I had such a bad experience that I needed to let people know. Definitely the worst haircut I've ever gotten. I showed pictures and talked about what I wanted, that I didn't want to go to short. The first thing they did was shave the sides of my head super high up and they didn't seem to know how to handle asian hair because the way they styled it would have worked on white hair types but not on mine because of the porcupine hair that asian hair tends to do. They also seemed to be super rushing and going way too fast, I have never heard "oops" so many times when getting my hair cut. I left the salon and cried for a little while then immediately turned around and went to a different barbershop to shave it all off because it is better to be bald than whatever that hairstyle was. I showed them the same pictures and they went "Oooh, yeah that's not good." If you are considering it, go to a different salon. (Also, part of the reason I chose this place was because I thought they were really pro-LGBTQ but the stylist that was working on me worked on a NB person before me and when they left referred to them with she/her pronouns multiple times so be aware of that.)

Worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. I showed a picture of what I wanted and everything but the staff must be blind because they shaved the sides and up way too high making me look like a rooster and basically giving me a Mohawk which is not what I asked for at all. The person cutting my hair also just seemed like they did not care at all, it was the most obvious terrible haircut. I shaved my head as soon as I got home. Go literally anywhere else for a haircut or do it yourself

Worst haircut I’ve ever experienced. Staff are partially blind and cannot listen to directions. I asked for a trim all around and ended up with 3 inches off everywhere now my hair is screwed for the first day of school. Also inside the location is nasty. It smells like and old persons foot not to mention the swarm of flys crawling over my legs. And then I was charged almost 50$ for this haunted house. My advice is to go litterly anywhere else or cut it yourself don’t give them your money.

As for the stank, we try to keep up on it, but again… old building. Maybe it was the stylist that smelled like a foot? Great place to get a haircut if you're willing to pay a bit of a premium! I've not gotten a bad haircut here but it is slightly more expensive than some of the smaller barbershops or chains; but frankly I think it hits about average on price overall. I like the ability to book appointments online and the space itself is cool. The only gripe I have is that the barbers seem to rotate out fairly regularly which makes it difficult for me to find one I like and continue to work with them. This location is very accessible either by public transit or car. I recommend finding a parking spot north of 50th on the Ave.

A couple weeks ago, I got my hair cut done here, a shoulder length bob to a chin length and more A-line style. My hair dresser was Elaina or Elaine (im not sure which name pronunciation) , when they finished cutting my hair I wasn't very happy because i didnt explain myself well or bring a picture. At the time they were very busy, and saw that i was unhappy so as i was paying, they told me to come back the next day and bring a reference picture. I came back and they were very professional and focused, they gave me a haircut that i was very very happy with and i still love it! They didnt charge me for the second cut, which was extremely kind and unexpected. So Thank you very much, Elaina/Elaine and i will come back again! :)

A speedy and beautiful fix to my awful split ends. Ellie cut my hair, Rachel processed the COVID-19 precautions and payment, and both of them were a pleasure to talk to.

This place still has the Rudy spirit from were I usually go in Tacoma. Everyone was nice, they also have the fridge of drinks which helps the wait go by quickly, which can be helpful during walk in appointments. I scheduled my appointment online the day before and they called asking if I can reschedule the haircut for 15 minutes later. I appreciate their willingness to communicate to make sure I can get excellent service even before I walked in their doors.

I am leaving this 5 star review for Carrie Anne with giant thanks for my awesome haircut yesterday! Carrie Anne has been working in hair for over a decade and it really shows. I got a haircut at a different Rudy's location that was a nice haircut in general but it did not work well with my curly hair. Forward several months of growing out and wearing hats, I got an appointment with Carrie Anne because I asked for a stylist who had curly hair. Carrie Anne was super nice and really talented and I now have a haircut that works perfectly with my curls and looks awesome on my head. I am 8 million times happier with my look now. Thank you Carrie Anne!!! Hope your surprise anniversary party is so fun! ;)

Update!! I went back to Whitney for a haircut and she had a wait list.although she did cut my hair nice, she decided to charge me $5.00 MORE than last time, totalling up to $37.00 because I asked for a short hair cut. maybe she assumed I wasn't coming back for a while because my hair's short and she's right; I'm NOT coming back for this kind of pricing. Do not get a haircut from WHITNEY! I had a haircut recently from another place 3 weeks ago, who butchered my hair. From a recommendation from a friend, I found Rudy's Barbershop and I'm so glad I took a chance and met WHITNEY, a wonderful and professional barber who really knows how to cut hair! -she was friendly and catered to my needs -staff was so chill and energetic -loved the atmosphere -most of all, she knew how to cut hair and gave amazing advice on hair and how to style my thick hair. Considering I've got a big birthday party and looking best as my priority, just so glad I found this place. I can't wait to see Whitney again! I can't thank her enough

I didn't like my experience at Shear Madness, so a friend recommended I try Rudy's. I had a very pleasant experience with a good barber. He did a fine job on my hair, and really took his time. It is a little pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion. If he can do a great job again, I'd have no problem giving this shop an excellent rating.
