The big downside is that when you're getting your hair cut, you don't have the coveted mirror in front of you to see how it's being cut. Another minor downside is that the person who cut my hair didn't offer me any haircuts. I asked what haircuts would suit me, and the hairdresser told me to show a photo of the hairstyle I wanted, so she didn't offer any hairstyles. It's a minor downside, but I like the cut, the result is good, and that's the main thing. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. 27 dollars haircut.

Wow! Emmie made me feel like a million bucks! I’ve been going to the same barber years but decided to try someone new. Boy I’m glad I did! She read my hair perfect and was pleasant, meticulous, and quick. 10/10

Had to find a new barber since my last one moved. Heard good things about this spot, tried it...VERY HAPPY. Honestly one of the best haircuts I've had in ages. I explained what a few (expensive) places did wrong cutting my hair previously and he did it perfectly. Definitely going to make this my regular barber now!

Best barber in Des Moines if not washington. I've had my hair cut by Joel since I was in the 5th grade. Best service and cleanest shop in town. They have always been polite and quick.

Best haircut I have in long long time, I have switched around the barbershops, the lady did a perfect job. People are really kind as well. It’s the best around this area. Highly recommended.

Yesterday I came in and asked if they accepted walk ins. (after going to another place that was very rude) They said yes and tried their best to squeeze me into their impossibly busy schedule! I told them id take their next appointment. That was today and it was amazing! I came in and asked for a mullet and they were again so incredibly kind and it turned out amazing. I will for sure be coming back! thank you !

Excellent old school barbershop. If you want a salon experience, look elsewhere, but if you want a high quality haircut with an experienced barber, I recommend Joel. Call in, make an appointment, look fresh after 30 min. They also do walk ins, but are typically pretty busy.

Been going here on and off last 20+ years. Sometimes I just buzz it myself. But when I go there it’s always great service, great people and of course a great cut. Jack and Joel are great! Can’t beat the price. Easy access and I like to support family owned businesses. Reminds me of when I was a kid going to the barber with my Dad. Good times kept alive. Thanks guys!

The lady was super nice, and professional. I always love to support family businesses, and it totally had that family owned vibe. Prices are a little high though. For 1 adult and 1 child hair cut it was 42 bucks! So maybe they don’t have kid pricing. Another thing to add but isn’t super critical in this case, because we are so laid back, is.... we asked for Seattle comb overs and just got regular haircuts LoL! But they are super nice and really great at cutting hair!

Excellent haircuts can be had here. A family member and I came in here on a random stop and found a excellent place to get her hair cut from now on. Seriously a family-friendly place. Small family run business. Excellent haircuts and beard trimming. The prices are not over the top like you'd expect for the area. All prices are posted old school right on the wall. I did not receive one extra charge like some other places for something small like aftershave after a beard trim. They even did clean up with razor without extra cost. Of all the places that I have visited for haircuts for men this is now the top of my list for the area. The owner's daughter gave me a haircut and a beard trim and she did a an amazing job.
