One of the worst places to get a haircut. Barbers are completely incompetent. Definite language barrier so they wont understand how you want your haircut, and if they do, they have no idea on how to cut it, and instead of taking accountability for their incompetence, they proceed to cut your hair regardless and the finished product is a haircut which is identical to the cut a 5 year old with some shears did. Highly doubt these "barbers" are capable of cutting hair or if they even have a single thought running in their heads.

WARNING! DO NOT GOT HERE, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE! I have never been so unsatisfied with any services I have received until my experience here. I went in and asked for a hair cut and ombré. After everything was done, I was not happy with the coloring process but the stylist (Jenny) kept assuring me that the coloring that I received was in fact ombré. After explaining to her that the coloring was not to my satisfaction and does not resemble ombré at all (no blending whatsoever) I was told I could receive a discount on the services. She said that she would have to charge me for the materials used. As a customer, I'm highly upset with that as it isn't my fault the job was terrible and product was wasted. Now I am left with bad hair and wasted money. Please do not waste your money at this place. ZERO STARS** Update: Since another customer has decided to take it upon themselves to comment on a situation that they weren’t even present for I would like to set the record straight. I never left happy and had complained on the spot prior to even leaving. Jenny practically kicked me out of the chair because other customers had walked in and she was more interested in making money versus having customers leave happy. Yes, she did offer to fix it, however, if she couldn’t do the job the first time, why would I trust her to do it a second? She clearly had no idea what ombré was and I wasn’t willing to allow her to destroy my hair even more while she tried figuring it out. Additionally, I did not receive all of my money back. She gave me what she likes to call a “discount” for a service that was done terribly. Not sure if you know anything about hair, but pretty sure what I received was not what I asked for. Therefore, for you to make a comment about me wanting a free service is completely ridiculous. I would definitely not have volunteered for this terrible color job. It’s all about quality, not quantity.

Been coming here for a few months when my barber Lisa moved to this location. Great place to get a haircut and shave (and I even sometimes get a facial, too). Lisa always does a great job. Highly recommended.

I have been going here for almost a year. The price is great and there is rarely, if ever, a wait. Jenny has been great. It took only a couple visits and she knew how I like my hair cut. She is bubbly and is always cheerful in addition to giving a great haircut. It is definitely worth giving Jenny a chance to cut your hair.

I can't believe I'm writing this review. I'm sitting here shocked. Lynn has been cutting my hair for a couple years. I just came home from my haircut after she told me to find a new barber because I asked her to fade my hair on the back of my head some more. She has always complained about my hair being too thick. I'm of South Asian descent so it's common for us. There have been many times where you could clearly see the fade done improperly around the sides of my head and the back to the point where my wife and my friends would even point it out. Sometimes I just wouldn't notice before leaving the barbershop. I have always been incredibly respectful to her, and I was always patient even when she didn't do a great job. I continued to go to her simply because the barbershop is close to me and it's cheap, plus as time went on, she slowly got better and better. For $20 haircuts, I always tipped her well ($7 each time). Today, after she finished cutting my hair, she showed me the mirror to see the fade on the back of my head. You could see a clear line all the way from one side of my head to the back and to the other side of my head where she didn't fade it properly. I traced my finger across the line and kindly and gently asked her if she could just fade it a little more. She snapped and said I should find a new barber and blamed it on my skin and the back of my head...? I don't get it. She is the first barber in my life who has struggled this much with my hair and the first one to blame my skin and my head...all of which are normal. When she told me to get a new barber, I sat there shocked and stayed silent for a minute. Then when I got up, I tried to, once again, kindly explain to her what I meant and asked her why she asked me how I thought the back of my head looks if she didn't want me to say anything. She told me I don't have to pay and I can leave. I'm shocked and disheartened because I still don't know what really happened here, other than this was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Edit - When I got home, I immediately asked my wife to look at my hair. She said there are uneven spots of unfaded hair on one side of my head.

I have been a customer at ABC Family Barber and Salon for several years and always get my haircut with Jenny. The location is very convenient and the all of the stylists seem happy working together. Most importantly, Jenny does a fantastic job cutting my hair! She is attentive and professional! Highly recommend Jenny at ABC!!!

Jenny is fabulous! She’s been doing my hair for 5 years and every time I leave, my cut is great and my color is on point. I get tons of compliments too. I’ve followed her from 2 other salons and as long as I’m here in the DMV, I’ll continue to come see her!

I had a fantastic experience at ABC Family Barber & Salon with Lynn as my hairstylist. She delivered a great haircut, paying attention to detail and offering valuable suggestions. The salon has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and professional. I left feeling refreshed and confident, and I highly recommend Lynn for her skill and personable service.
