Lots of negative reviews recently - and here's another. I hate when small businesses make dumb decisions that cost them thousands in revenue…but that’s what the collective staff at McNair Barber Shop did this afternoon. As you see in the picture, while the hours on the door state they are open until 5PM on Sundays, in fact they are only open until 4:38….because when they see you walking up from the parking lot, they lock the door and suggest that you’re too late to come get a haircut. I waited and hoped to talk to someone stating I only needed a quick trim and I know it was near closing time, but I have an important work (military) event this week that just came up and I needed to just spruce up a bit….nothing complicated – but they wouldn’t even give me the courtesy of opening the door to tell me they were closed. I stood there for 10 minutes in the freezing cold in a t-shirt wanting to talk to someone and beg to get a haircut – but all they (there were like 4 workers there) could do was just motioning from the window to “go away” and pointing at their wrists suggesting I was too late. I walked up at 4:38!!! This establishment is not open until 5PM like their hours claim. Like the August poster mentioned – this location has fallen in terms of service and quality terribly. Prices have risen by a third in the last year and frankly, I would have been fine if they would have just talked to me. I guess that’s too much to ask. I was a regular – once a month visitor at $30+ per visit with tip which adds up to about $400 in revenue/year – I won’t be back and that adds up to thousands of lost revenue all because they wouldn’t even talk to me. Cowards and terrible service is what you can expect from McNair Barber Shop.

I like going here for a haircut because there is never a long wait. As of December 2025 the cost for a men's haircut was $26

Staff here has huge attitude problem. Are you flying because you get too many customers? Learn to listen to your customers, they aren’t dumb to tell you their choice. That lady schooled me all the while during my haircut, “you dint tell me the exact name of the haircut before starting”, she says. I clearly showed you the photo and video, how in this world will I know what you call this haircut at your place? Be humble while you speak to your customers, they do not owe any explanation to you.

My family has been loyal customers at McNair Barber Shop for 9 years. I always request the same haircut for my sons: #4 on top and #3 on the bottom and they always use the scissor for the top part of the hair! During our most recent visit, one of the barbers shaved my son’s entire head with a #3 guard only. The haircut was done in less than 2 minutes, and by the time I realized, it was too late to stop him. Before leaving, I spoke with the barber and explained that this was not a #4 and #3 cut but just a #3 all over. He denied everything. I paid $26 and left, but outside my son broke down crying, saying his hair was way too short like bald and that he has his yearbook picture next week. I returned to the shop to speak with the manager. She ignored me and walked away to cut another customer’s hair. Meanwhile, the barber who cut my son’s hair came over, laughed loudly in front of my crying child, and dismissed me again. Neither he nor the manager apologized, acknowledged the mistake, or offered a refund. Their attitude was rude and unprofessional, showing no care for children at all. To make matters worse, they even insisted on charging my 12-year-old son as an adult ($26), despite the sign on the window showing adult ($26) / seniors and children ($25) pricing. A child is clearly not an adult. This was by far the worst experience we’ve had after nearly a decade of visits. They showed no accountability, no respect for customers, and no compassion for kids. We will not be returning, and I do not recommend this barber shop, especially for children.

Very bad experience. I took my 4 year old kid for a haircut and I was asked to wait for my turn. When my turn came after 30 mins, I was asked to wait further without any reason. After waiting for almost an hour, I asked them how long should I wait as my turn came long back. Then they rudely told we can not cut your kid’s hair today.

Been here about 5 times. And every time someone comes in, skips line and had an "appointment". Finally I got the nerve to ask, and follow it up with my own request for an appointment for my next cut. I was told they don't take appointments lol. Racist? Or maybe 10$ wasn't enough tip 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I have been getting my hair cut here regularly for about 1 and a half years. The employees are friendly and polite. The prices are very reasonable. Special thanks for Alexis and Michael.

One of the best cheapest options within the zone. Point to be noted - the shop doesn’t accept any cards, it’s Cash Only. Happy with the service quality on my last visit. Child and seniors are 23$ and men haircut is around 24$.

I’ve never had an issue with the cuts here. Wait times are usually low. But the price keeps going up and they refuse to take credit cards. Come on! It’s 2024. Just buy a Square/Clover terminal and give people the ability to use modern forms of payment. You’ll probably even get more tip money when people can simply tap the screen vs remember to carry extra dollar bills. If this place continues to be cash only by next year, I’ll find another barber. Edit: after another price increase in July 2024 and they still refuse to accept anything other than cash, I've switched to another barber. This one isn't worth it anymore.

Theri (I think that's the correct spelling) was very nice. She listened to me, was patient, and helped manage my expectations on how the hair would come out. She charged about $40 for a woman's cut, a little more expensive than expected, but my hair was thick and took a bit long. Thank you so much for the wonderful service and seeing me quickly.
