Sure, you can find some bougie barbershop near a mall or in the city or search for some hole-in-the-wall joint you convince yourself is old school. But, you won’t find a better barbershop than Sook’s! Lan, Sook, and Yeriel know what’s up and will give you the best fade you’ve ever had. Attention to detail, expert quality cuts, and affordable prices are hallmarks of Sook’s. I’ve been impressed on more than one occasion watching Sook provide instruction to her barbers on challenging cuts, and stand firm against customers who thing they can negotiate prices of cuts or swindle for a free cut for some reason (Hint: she doesn’t take any grief, so check your ideas about getting over on them at the door). P.S. Do me a favor, though, and stay out of Lan’s chair; she’s the best! =]

I called earlier today for a walk-in appointment, I got seen as soon as I got to the barbershop. The women were extremely nice and professional, got tbe haircut I wanted and they make it look easy.

The ladies are wonderful. I especially like two of them. They know I come to relax and get shaved on head and face. Many times I’m so relaxed I’ve fallen asleep. To those who gave negative reviews you are nuts. They all know how to give a great cut and you are not going to get better for the price.

Sook is my favorite Barbar. I have been her customer for 7 years and never get disappointed. Her service is excellent, I blindly rely on her hair cutting skills. Highly recommended. A+++

The ladies are very friendly, they always smile and start conversations with you, very welcoming. They do mostly men haircut but Sook does women haircut, with appointment. She takes her time and doesn't rush through your hair. Love coming here!

Today I came to get a haircut for my 3-year-old son, and unfortunately had a very bad experience with one of the barbers (Sun), She was upset and rude from the beginning. Suddenly, she started asking about the money and told me the price would be $26, almost forcing me to accept it. The way she acted made it seem like she was doing the haircut for free, then turned around and demanded more. This behavior felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. I don’t recommend anyone to get a haircut in this barber they are unprofessional and lack of experience just they can use tremor

Thanks for the review and I apologize for the misunderstanding. We always advise the customer of how much any haircut that is outside a normal cut will cost, because some people get upset if they think the price would be the same as the normal cut. All of my barbers are professional but as human beings everyone has different personalities and speaking styles. Believe me there was no intended hostility or disrespect. I tried to make things right with you before you left and I thought things had been made right, but nevertheless I wish you well and thanks for your patronage of my business.

I had a great experience at Sook’s Barber in Dumfries! Ellie was my barber, and she was incredibly nice and professional. She took her time, made sure I was comfortable, and gave me a clean, sharp cut. You can tell she really cares about her work and her customers. Highly recommend asking for Ellie if you stop by — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Hands down the best barbershop in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there are always a bunch of barbers there so wait times are minimal. Consistently good haircuts.

I've been driving out of my way to go to this barber shop after finding it back in 2015. Excellent service and crew providing really well done cuts for short hair. Used them for a pre wedding hair cut as well. High recommendation and good pricing.

I happened to come to this shop after trying for over a year to find my son a barber who would cut his hair consistently with quality and be respectful of my time when I made an appointment. I’m so happy I met Lan, she is always friendly very professional, cuts my son’s hair with great concern and most importantly consistent! The prices are at market rate and a slight military discount is offered. This is one of the best places in Dumfries. I now go at least once per week for myself!
