Unfortunately, the place is just dirty, unorganized, and one of the stylists simply cannot cut hair. As soon as I entered, all of the stylists were steering me to go to the one who was not busy – they did not even ask if I wanted to request someone. I didn’t want to be rude, so I just went with her. When I told the stylist what I wanted (a shave on the back and sides with a number 1 clipper, blended to the top, a 1/4 inch off the top, and a bit off for the bangs), she said I can’t do that because a number 1 is too close to the skin. I should have just got up and left then, but again, I didn’t want to be rude. She instead used a number 2 clipper and 3 mins later, she said she was done. I was immediately suspicious, but for some reason still gave her the benefit of the doubt. Because I wasn’t going home immediately afterwards, I asked for shampoo. I was led to the sinks to the back and that’s went the smell of a fast-food bathroom hit me. I had to hold my nose and squirm around just to avoid getting my head down further into the sink, where I thought the smell was coming from. I get home, and I find that my hair is completely uneven. The shaved left side was longer than the right and the right side wasn’t blended evenly to the top – the hair hangs over like a roof. To top it off, the right side of my bangs are longer than the left, so it looks like I have cowlick. I now have to use a lot of pomade just to hide all of the imperfections left by this so call “hair stylist”. Be warned – there’s a reason why certain hair stylists are constantly busy, and others aren’t. Don’t let them force you to go to one just because she’s not busy.

We investigated the sinks and the surrounding area and while we have not heard any similar complaints from our customers, we deep cleaned it thoroughly as a precaution in addition to our usual cleaning. This is my go-to barbershop. Great barbers and really affordable compared to the area, without compromising any quality. Hot towel and straight-razor neck shave are complementary with a men's haircut.

Love this place! Our family has been using for years and they are fantastic hair cutters! Nicest folks! Our son won’t go anywhere else; Sarah is his barber of choice. ✂️💇♂️

Love this barbershop and miss it lots. Had my hair cut here for 10+ years, left the area, and still stop back in whenever I travel thru DC. Always above & beyond service, and very friendly. You’ll probably end up with a favorite stylist for your hairstyle, but all the ladies have cut my hair dozens of times over the years. A++ Edit: My toddler got his first trim here and they were absolute pros on kid haircuts…a very fun and memorable moment.

I came in as a walk in on a Sunday afternoon. I had no wait and was in and out in under 30 minutes. I had a great experience with Debbie and got a very reasonably priced haircut and beard trim for under 40 dollars. It was a great cut and exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be back again! Quick and easy and a good value.

My husband has been going to Clarendon Barber since 2013. Sara has been doing such a terrific job. She cut our hair before we went on vacation when my husband proposed. She cut our hair before our wedding. Today Sara was the only person we wanted to do our little girl’s first haircut. She has shown 10 years of consistent great work and she is worth the 30 min travel back to Clarendon to see her every time ❤️ We look forward to many more years of bringing our little family to see her

I've been a customer at Clarendon Barber since 2011. When I go in, I always get my hair cut by Sarah (who I got the first time by coincidence, but now always will wait for). Sarah is friendly, remembers you (she always asks me about my life, my family, my cats - she has a great memory), and does a really great job. Once, after she already finished, I thought I wanted it a little shorter so she went through and re-trimmed the whole thing. Sarah is patient, attentive, and gives great haircuts. Everyone at the shop is incredibly friendly and great at their work. The prices are super reasonable and my favorite part is always the hot towel and the straight razor shave of the back of my neck. There's a reason that this place has great reviews. The service is awesome, the prices are great, and you'll go back again and again.

This was my third time going back to this barber with the last two experiences being average at best. This time I went I had the same barber Kim my hair and she was leaving my hair uneven and had to repeatedly ask her to even out my hair. The last two time I was given a straight razor neck shave so at the end of my haircut I asked for a my neck to be shaved like it has previously been done. Kim shaved my neck and I had thought she had nicked my neck a couple times due to a few sharp pains. I asked her if my neck was bleeding. She told me "No" and blotted areas of my neck proceeding to showed me a clean tissue. Believing she wouldn't lie to me I assumed it was a little razor burn. After paying and giving her a $2 tip for the poor service she left her hand out and told me she needed more. I left and was picked up by my girlfriend who noticed blood running down the back of my neck. I have attached a picture after the blood was wiped off my neck. I emailed the barber shop a complaint which was never replied to. Very poor customer service. I would not recommend to anyone.
