Warning: barber did not take instruction. I honestly don't quite know how to rank my experience. The haircut I received was technically proficient, but it was not what I asked for. I came in with 6 in of hair on the top of my head with short back and sides. Back and sides were shaggy, neck fuzzy, the top definitely needed dead ends to be trimmed. You get it. I told the barber I wanted a classic men's haircut, 1930 style short tapered back and sides, long on top, but trim it. I told him to undercut but nothing crazy, like peaky blinders skin on the side. He spent a lot of time working on the back and sides, which admittedly look fine. But with the first cut of the scissors on the top of my head, he removed 3 in right in the front. Boom. Length gone. No going back. I told him it was too short and he said oh well, I'll have to even it up. I left there with less than 3 in of length on the top and almost a year's work in growing out my top lying on the shop floor. When it was done I reiterated that it was not what I asked for. He was silent. The other barbers looked over sheepishly with curiosity. No apology or acknowledgment from my guy or anyone else. I went to Industry10 because I wasn't getting quite what I wanted at the $30 barbershop range in Alexandria. This cost me $51. I communicated, but he didn't listen. That should not happen at any price, but when you go to the next level you expect next level service.. I see another customer review said don't come here for medium to long hair. Unfortunately I have to second that opinion. When someone has long hair and asks for it to be trimmed, the barber should confirm how much the customer wants taken off, or conversely they should communicate to the customer how much they as a professional, think should be taken off. A trim means a trim, not aggressive cutting of length. And for the record, I'm such a soft-hearted sap that I believe people do try to work hard at their jobs and I still gave this guy a couple of bucks tip. But his failure to listen and his rashness in cutting my hair far too short despite my instructions, leads me to caution you before you come here. I don't know what the barber's name is. He never told me.

We come here for the children's haircut because Anthony does an incredible job. He is thorough, precise, and kind. He treats children with respect and makes them comfortable. The haircut we receive each time is top notch!

One of my neighbors recommended Industry 10 to me! My search for s quality barber is officially over! Greg is talented, attentive, and very professional! The shop is conveniently located and very well kept! I highly recommend this business!

Music was amazing. Two things I saw I really liked were that the barber asked me multiple questions, almost interrogating me how I wanted the cut done. And then another barber asked the lead barber for advice during their client's cut. Good culture of just wanting to get it right. Only negative: super expensive

5/5 and that’s coming from maybe the pickiest when it comes to barbers. This is for anyone who is the same and isn’t sure who to go to based on pictures of businesses that come up when you google “barbershop near me”. Bad haircuts last a really long time. You can trust me, the atmosphere was great, and they actually listened to what I described for a haircut and did more than exceeded expectations. One of the very rare barbershops who care about their work and it shows. I’d recommend industry10 to anyone!

I recently visited Industry10 in Alexandria, hoping to find a new consistent barber, given the praise for the head barber, Gregory. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I requested a tight taper and specifically asked to leave the top untouched. Gregory, however, began a lengthy lecture on how he had a better vision for my hair, insisting that my request wouldn't achieve the look I wanted. Despite my initial hesitation, I decided to trust his expertise. Regrettably, Gregory cut off a significant amount of weight from all four quadrants of the top of my head. This left me with hardly any hair to style as a fringe, exposing my receding hairline and leaving my forehead overly exposed. It completely ruined the look I was going for. Adding to the disappointment, I asked for a moustache and chin strap, but what I received was nothing short of ridiculous. The chin strap, intended to be small and tight to accentuate my jawline, instead covered everything below my lips, making me feel like a clown. Despite his lectures on keeping the beard I had, I didn’t realize the only alternative was such a poorly executed style. Leaving Industry10, I felt dismayed and incredibly dissatisfied with my haircut. Given Gregory's reputation, I expected much better. It's unfair that he’s spoken of so highly when a customer can leave feeling so disheartened. To anyone considering a visit to Gregory at Industry10: proceed with caution. What I hoped would be a simple and stylish haircut turned into a lesson in regret. I haven't felt this dismayed from a haircut in years. For the prices they charge, you should leave feeling confident and satisfied, not looking for a hat to cover the damage. Choose wisely and perhaps avoid the hype around Gregory unless you're ready to risk the same fate.

I’ve been seeing Greg for about a year now, so I have more than enough experience to say this: He’s simply the best of the best — both in the DMV area or anywhere else. I’ve had some good, even great, barbers throughout my life, but nothing compares. Not only is he an absolute expert who will have you feeling like a million bucks every single time you leave his shop (I can’t emphasize this enough: he will get you RIGHT), but he’s also an incredible person and an insanely hard worker. He also checks any other box a customer may care about: the pricing is great, the shop is clean and in the heart of Old Town, you can make appointments online, etc. etc. Greg checks every box. I can’t speak for the other barbers in his shop because I haven’t worked with them, but I’m sure they’re fantastic, because Greg wouldn’t have it any other way. I truly can’t recommend Greg and Industry 10 enough. Five stars all around.

Anthony was amazing! I asked for a blunt cut bob and he precisely did just that!!! He even flat ironed my hair for a cleaner cut. Definitely coming again. Customer service was out of this world and he’s the sweetest! Try him out everyone, ask for Anthony!
