This shop has always been professional and truly a cut above the rest. I used to come here years ago before I started my locs, and now it’s come full circle bringing my grandson. The level of professionalism is top tier. I’ve always enjoyed the throwback music as well!

Highly recommended barber shop for all ages. Chill and friendly environment, very welcoming, good music! I personally get my hair cut with KARL but all of them are very skilled. You wont regret going here.

35 years in the game and it shows. Karl brought me back to life. Professional, friendly and gave me the haircut I wanted down to the T. I have been having issues with barbers pushing my hairline back on both sides. No such issue with Karl. I will definitely be back to see him. If you are looking for a dependable barber, go check him out!

I have been one of Karl’s clients since 2014. Despite living across town the last several years, I still use his services because of the haircut quality, conversations, and atmosphere. I highly recommend others to spend their time and money here.

Have been coming to this shop since I move to Houston (12 years!). Haircut, beard, and now for my twists (and my son) - Karl, Tierra and all of the barbers / stylists have taken good care of me and my family. Only downside, the owner is a Cowboys fan but otherwise the perfect spot for our hair care.

My son and husband have always had an excellent experience! Appointments are timely and customer service is top notch! The shop is clean and family friendly! All staff are warm and welcoming! Love that we can make appointment, however walk in are welcome and the wait is never long. Highly recommend

Say lookout mayne!! This is the shop to come to when you want a nice vibe and the old school barber shop treatment. I personally have been rockin with Dave for years but everyone in here is top notch! There’s a female barber/stylist too. (I’mma get at her to do a silver streak one day lol). Anyway, I highly recommend Above The Rest. Everybody walks in lookin raggedy coming out royalty. It’s all in the name!

Been coming here for 3 years and getting my hair cut by Mike! Never had any issues and always accommodated if I need to reschedule. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a barber in the area!
