I came in today totally in a dire need haircut status and Art saved the day. He was available, ready to go, and had the best attitude. He clearly knows what he’s doing and he definitely earned a long-time customer today. Just have to prove it to him now! Art, thanks again! Great Barbershop 💈The gentleman have the best classic vibe you want!

Got a special fade. Was good, surprisingly fast. I liked James’ personality, humorous.

This is “our” barber shop. Like Cheers, it’s nice to go where everybody knows your name, and after months and years of my spouse and me coming, Times is 100% that vibe. Here’s a rundown of the folks we’re on a first-name basis with. It’s a decades-old family business, and the owner Robert sets the tone for courtesy and professionalism. He’s a class act! James is always at the ready with a friendly welcome ~ and you can tell it’s genuine. Rick has the gift of gab and can keep you company discussing whatever interests you while he cuts your hair. Arthur and Michael are my usual suspects for a fantastic fade. (Art did my hair today- see pic), and Michael cut my hair before my wedding day. Christina (my spouse’s fave) wins the award for most versatile across all categories. And Mr. Leon offers shoe shine services in 2025 at the vintage prices of yesteryear. You can drop off and pick up later or get them done while you get a haircut. Don’t just come once ~ get to know the folks at Times and make this your shop, too!

This place is the real deal -- an old fashioned barber shop with barbers who know what they are doing. Many Rice professors and students go here to get classic haircuts at a great price. I drop in every time I am in Houston. Walk-ins are welcome and usually have a short wait.

Myth: the best barbershop of all time doesn’t exist Fact: yes, it does—and I’ve found it. For years I’ve been searching far and wide, praying for guidance, and constantly thinking about how much I wanted to find a good barbershop. There’s many places that offer low prices… but they happened to give subpar haircuts. And at the opposite side: believe it or not, I've found places that charged so much and they were even worse. At Times Barbershop, I’ve gotten to meet Rick Walker and his amazing crew of gifted barbers with surgical-grade precision (probably from all of the doctors that pay them a visit for haircuts every day), they have incredible stories to tell (just look at their wall full of marvelous memorabilia from all over the world!!), they have professional tools and materials to make you go "WOW" like I did, and they have the smarts to give you a style that you’ll love, and that will keep you coming back for more… because they’re amongst the top favorite places for all students, businesses and engineering professionals from all over Houston!! I ride my bicycle for fifteen minutes to get here every time I come (and they let me bring it inside for safekeeping while I'm getting my haircut!!)—but had I had to drive 15 hours or more, like 15 days… I would still do it. It would still be worth the trip by so much, because, once again: I have found the best barbershop of all time. And they call it… the Times Barber Shop 💈⭐️🚀 (thanks y'all for being so amazing!!)

Since moving to Houston about a year ago, I got my haircut at three other places before I tried Times Barber Shop. Times was hands-down the best. I wish I found it sooner. It’s going to be my go-to barbershop now. I was extremely pleased with the way my barber, James, cut my hair. I arrived at 9:30 am on a Saturday, and there were already five people ahead of me. I received a warm greeting and was given an estimate of my wait — about 30 minutes. I was invited to have a seat at one of the empty barber chairs. About a half hour later, a couple more barbers arrived, and it was my turn to get a haircut. The shop is clean and professional — a traditional place. The walls are decorated with college pennants from seemingly every school except my alma mater — University of Kansas. I’ll have to remedy that! Prices are right — $20 for a regular cut. James asked me how I wanted my hair cut, and he listened carefully and asked questions. He nailed it the first time, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ll be back.

Today i went to this barbershop for the first and definitely the last time. Let me start by pointing out how unprofessional they are. While you're getting your haircut the mirror is behind your back and you're unable to see what going on and point out any mistakes. As soon as you're done you don't even get a chance to check your haircut and you're just asked to pay rushed out the door. If you ask for a shave it will be done by a cheap double blade Gillette and not the traditional barber's single razor. Lastly i went in to get a fade and beard clean up. While my hair got ruined my beard wasn't even touched let alone look and be clean. My pictures speak for them selves. (I blurred out my face to maintain privacy)

Based on the review I had read I gave this place a good fair shot. But honestly, my haircut experienced was horrible. You want to read this too. The gentleman right when you come in was extremely polite, it does make you feel really welcome to the shop. So since I am new. He asked me if I had someone in particular or anyone, so I said I’m new, and the same gentleman sent me to a chair (I like to call the Thorne) where I had to wait for couple of mins for the person who will cut my hair. Everything was great until the lady came in. She was the only lady at the shop. THE ONLY ONE! And she cut my hair (well, she screwed up my hair) She even asked me if I was frustrated the way I look, honestly I am very respectful with others’ work but someone needs to get this lady to take hair cut lessons again!!! BUT YES I AM FRUSTRATED. I paid $20 and now I have to look for another barber to fix her mess. If you decide to come to this place, I highly will recommend you not to get the lady I was observing the others barbers and I was jealous how they were being treated. (You know what I mean when we get our haircuts you see the way the others do cut hairs to the other mates) Honestly what she did, I could have done it myself. With those $20 I could have gone to Walmart buy me one of those cheap kits and be done with it. But something in me was telling me, you’ll look better if you go to a professional. Anyway, she looks kind of Native American but I think there’s some Latina or Hispanic in her. She had that type of latína/Hispanic woman attitude so that’s how I conclude that there’s some latina/Hispanic in her. Not trying to be racist or profiling people, but if your girl is latina/Hispanic or you have dated one for more than 30 days, you kind of know what I’m talking about. Oh before I forget, she did asked me if I wanted to get cut the top, I mean of course I do. It is kind of long. But I asked her how do you measure it, she’s like, oh I do it by inches. Then I asked her. How much length is an inch then? Guys, this is what she said and did (she grabs one of the hair brushes and she says oh it’s kind like this. She points at some of the tips of the thing) and then I go hhmmm well, do 1 inch, she’s ok with that and I asked her “do you think it is too much, is it gonna look good?” She goes, “I don’t know and don’t care, that’s your hair.” I was like oh shït and coconuts this is lady is something else. So I change my mind and decided not to cut nothing on top. I paid, and as I was leaving; the nice gentleman at front kindly wished me a good day and told me he wished me to comeback. ( now I am not coming back but, I am not rude and I was not gonna say that to him, so I reply with a kindly smile to him) Again, do not request or do not allow the lady to do your hair cuts my fellow mates. I took it for the Pack today, but I hope this review helps to save some good mates out there. Remember she looks kind of Native American and a bit of Latina/Hispanic. This review is intended as support for follow mates and protect them from entering a situation like mine. Not racist or profiling.
