Great cuts at an affordable price. Owner doesn’t try and upsell you on anything and the place has a nice old school vibe to it. All the bad reviews on here are just trolls trying to ruin a good business for no reason.

If you’re looking for a real-deal Texas barbershop, this is it. From the moment you walk in, you get that authentic cowboy vibe—leather, wood, country music humming, and a barber who actually know what they’re doing. The attention to detail is unreal. Clean fades, sharp lines, perfect beard work—the kind of haircut that makes strangers ask you where you got it. This guy does not rush you through the chair; they take pride in their craft, and it shows. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It’s laid-back, friendly, and full of good conversation—exactly what a Texas barbershop should be. Whether you’re a ranch hand, businessman, or just want to look sharp for the weekend, you’ll feel right at home. Old-school service, modern skill, and true Texas hospitality. I won’t go anywhere else. 🤠✂️

Rudy doesn’t miss. You sit down, you get a clean cut, and you walk out looking better than you did when you came in. No gimmicks, no upsell, no small talk unless you want it. Just results. If you want a barber who handles business, Rudy at Studewood is the guy.

Best barbershop in town! But don’t go here if you are sensitive or can’t take a joke. There are styling salons for you. Here… it’s no holds bar! Nothing is off limits. Think of the scene in the Gran Torino. It’s what makes this Heights Barbershop great! See you there!

- No call ahead to get in line or on a list. - No up sells or petty nickel and dime charges. - No credit or debit cards. - No trendy seating, shampoos, or hair/facial treatments. Studewood Barber Shop is a one-man-show (Rudy) that does a great job, consistently! If you’re unsure how you’d like to get your hair cut, just let him know what you’re thinking. He will make suggestions based on the style/cut you’re wanting to have. I see the common description of the shop throughout to be “old school”; it is! If your going later in the day (Saturdays) or around lunchtime, call the shop to make sure he’s not at lunch (hell, the guy’s entitled to eat) or shut down early…due to slower than usual day.

I have been in Houston about 2 years and have been searching for a real barber experience and a good haircut. Rudy Gonzales cut my hair on Sat., 4/23. He was friendly and talked about what he needed to do to cut my hair the way I wanted. When I got home, my wife said "That's the best cut you gotten since we have been in Houston."' I may have found "my" barbershop. Thanks, Rudy. See you again soon.
