I am so grateful I found this place. My son is in JROTC and has to keep his hair in regulation for uniform but it grows so fast. This place has come in clutch when I need to take him last minute. The students are knowledgeable and professional. The instructor is there offering guidance the whole time. The place is also well kept and clean. I recommend this place, no hesitation.

I would like to start out by saying I’m a Navy Veteran and I attended and graduated from Franklin Institute. My experience here was absolutely amazing, and I learned so much from the staff and instructors. Mr. Ron and Mrs. J the owners of the school took very good care of me and always made me feel like family. I recently passed both my state exams for the written and practical. I couldn’t have done it without the education I received from Franklin Institute and I will be forever grateful. If anyone is looking to become a barber or cosmetologist look no further than Franklin Institute because you will find no better school! Respectfully, Keith Mutz

Owner's response

I come, or came, here often. I’m not sure when I will be back after my experience today. I felt uncomfortable when another stylist joined in without much explanation, and a conversation about my hair happened in another language right in front of me. When I asked if there was an issue, I was told “No, I’m just helping,” but the lack of clarity made me feel left out. What added to the discomfort was being asked if I was okay multiple times after I asked about my hair, it made me feel like I had done something wrong for simply speaking up. I shut down a bit emotionally after that. This isn’t to blame anyone. I just want to highlight how important communication and transparency are. I left feeling off, but still respectful of the work done.

Owner's response

Ms. Bou, truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you during your visit with Franklin. Yes, Franklin is becoming a lot more diverse. We encourage all ethnicities to enroll in our institute and are honored that they have selected our schools to gain education and training needed to become a well-rounded stylist. We will and have addressed your concerns with speaking different languages on the clinic floor in front of clients, that is definitely not acceptable. I don't think the students meant any harm, however by no means do we want our clients to feel uncomfortable, especially when servicing client's. We hope that you will allow Franklin to continue providing good services to you in the future. As we continue to become more of a Melton pot, which is so encouraging to us to see Franklin evolving and exposed to more and more different cultures.

Recently I have been going to Franklin, I always leave looking better than when I came. The students are very nice and you can tell they are there to do their best job! You will leave there pleased! After all these are students learning if you want professionals you should go to a more expensive establishment!

Owner's response

Linda we appreciate your kind words. Our students and staff really appreciate our clients continuing to return for our services.

So I want there 2 day Thursday night I had a appointment so she didn’t show up so another said she can do my hair show her a picture no pink curls no nothing so I decide to go today. The one I was supposed to have an appointment yesterday was there show style again and she just made me look like a mess the instructor came. She didn’t even know what she doing. She needs to go back to school herself, then took pictures and video of me without my authorization and sent it to someone and what kind of instructor did not get authorization to send a picture or take a picture of me of me what kid of mess is that I know there students about to graduate, but the instructor should be the ones teaching them how to do those fundamentals before they bought the graduate, but I see why she don’t even know how to do. Nothing to even show them two days of money gone down the drain for a show that look a hot mess. Both side look different and hot mess hwy 6 locations

Updated 3/18/22 ~ teen daughter had a student with MAJOR unprofessionalism demeanor (to the point teen felt so uncomfortable she removed herself from the station). Understanding this is an educational environment - in the service industry customer service skills are critical. And to maintain my loyalty this student needs coaching and not coddling. Owners son, Mr Jason, was made aware. Keeping loyal customers in this current pandemic, as being a business owner myself, it is very important. The Instructor Ms Tina and her students won't let you down. They will slay and not play with your hair. Take it from the natural hair advocate💥

Owner's response

Michelle we are so excited that you enjoyed your services at Franklin. The students & staff are working very hard to better their craft daily. We thank you for your kind words!!! Salute

I am a graduating student here and I found my experience at Franklin Barber Institute to be very memorable. Dr.Friar is the best teacher I’ve ever had. The management is very friendly and the students all have good attitude. If you are looking for a great school to learn and become a great barber/cosmo I would highly recommend this place.
