George was great! First time in he cleaned me up with no hesitation. Not too short or too long on the cut without having to ask. Great conversations and I felt he paid great attention to detail. The Bun B mural on the back is 2 Trill! I’ll be returning! Thanks George!

Nice guy but does not know how to cut black people hair well. He needs some practice. I have to be honest. Went to another barber who fixed my line up. He was scared to line me up but id rather him not do it than mess my hair up. Nice dude though just needs a bit more practice to cut black people the right way.

Owner's response

Respectfully, the issue was not a lack of experience with African American or curly hair texture, it was the condition of your hairline when you arrived. To clarify for anyone reading: your hairline had been pushed back significantly by an inch prior to your visit, and our professional recommendation was to allow it to regrow properly rather than force a sharp lineup that would cause long-term damage. That decision was about protecting the integrity of your hairline — not hesitation or lack of ability. We proudly work with all hair textures and always prioritize my clients’ long-term results over short-term appearance.

George has earned himself a loyal customer for life. I appreciate how his prices are not ridiculous like some of the local barbers in the area charging >$50.00 for a haircut. The shop is clean, the service is consistent and George always follows the customers direction/instructions with the haircut. I proudly support this small business and look forward to going back for my next hair cut. ✂️

Does not do fade wells for a barbershop called Fade barbershop. Asked for a low fade, George said he recommends a high fade, told him no and he still gave me a high fade. Also completely went in his own direction regarding the top of my hair when I asked for just a small trim he shaved off most of my head. Then he gave me attitude when I asked him about it and said I didn’t give him enough specifics. Well if you aren’t sure about where to go then ask me. This was great clips level haircut without the great clips prices.

Owner's response

Hi Noor, We are sorry to hear you didn’t have a positive experience. When you sat in the chair, there was some uncertainty about the style you wanted. We recommended a higher fade, which you agreed to. During the cut you kept falling asleep and would get upset when we told you multiple times to wake up. It’s important to have a clear idea of what you want, we appreciate your feedback and hope you find a barber who can meet your needs

Three stars only because he’s generally down to earth generally a cool dude but however, I don’t think he knows how to cut African hair or African-American style hair. I ended up going to another barber immediately after to get a new line. He gave good advice and has respectful opinions

Owner's response

Hi Alan,<br>Thanks for your feedback. When you came in, I recommended getting your braids done first before the taper haircut to ensure the best final result. However, you chose to proceed with the haircut

Been getting cuts here for 2 years straight now and strongly recommend. George is an artist with his clippers and great conversation too. Give Fade Barbershop a chance and you’ll see for yourself what I mean.

George is amazing, first of all the attention is great, he takes his time to wee what works best for you. I've gone there twice now and it seems like he got it even better than the first time. He was also very helpful with helping me choose the right pomade for me.

George is the best. Fantastic haircut, beard trim, price and conversation. He can and will talk to you about anything. Not calling it a “hidden gem” by any means but I’m glad this place isn’t crowded or overblown (for now) because I can see it will be soon. Great barber and great shop.

Great atmosphere and great service. My barber was friendly, engaging and did a great skin fade and trim. He was actually able to correct some imbalanced areas and made it look better than expected. The space has a cool, modern industrial feel and has easily accessible parking (for free, another plus in the downtown area). I highly recommend this place and will definitely return next time I am in the area.
