Delia has been cutting my kid's hair since 2017. My oldest son won't go anywhere else or let anyone touch his beard ever again. She's the absolute best. So friendly so personable

This place is so professional. Kim and her crew are fabulous! You will not find a better place to get a haircut and/or beard trim. The atmosphere is calm, smooth, and relaxing. Kim and her crew really care about the customers. They are truly really personable. Thank you for always providing the best service I have ever had in over 40 years! Happy Holidays to Kim and her crew for making this year a great one. We are all lucky to have your fabulous caring of every client and their family. Also, I can't say enough great things about the service you all provide. Thank you is not enough gratitude that we all can give. If anyone is looking for the #1 best Barbershop in the Bulverde/San Antonio area for people of all ages this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed!

My husband had been growing his hair out since his stroke in May, and it was something he was very proud of. He brought a picture of a Viking-style haircut to show the stylist exactly what he wanted. Right away, she gave a look of confusion and made a dismissive comment, which should have been our first warning sign. Despite the clear reference, the result was nowhere near what he had asked for. Instead of the rugged Viking style he envisioned, his hair was unevenly cut, with no resemblance to the picture he provided. This was deeply disappointing, as it took months of effort to grow his hair to that length. What made it worse was the lack of professionalism and understanding as she kept saying it will grow back. He had mentioned several times that hair grows slow but she kept mentioning hair growth products. A stylist should be able to either execute a specific request or communicate if they are unable to. Instead, we were left with a haircut that feels careless and a lot of regret. Kaye or Kate is her name we let her know we were disappointed.

Great spot. I’ve been cutting my hair with Adam for a couple of years and he is always consistent. He’s an amazing barber and always accommodates me even when it’s last minute. I recommend anyone looking for a new barber to come and get a hair cut here.

My husband and two boys (5 and 6 years old) have been seeing Yvette at Barber 281 for about two years now, and have always had the best experience and excellent hair cuts. Yvette is not only professional and talented as a barber, but she is also so friendly and accommodating. She remembers my husband’s and boys’ preferences every time and their hair always looks fantastic. Kim, the owner, is also so sweet to my boys whenever we come in. 10/10 highly recommend!

I have been going here for years and have always gotten great haircuts. I had a coupon for a free haircut at another barber shop and it was terrible and they did not blend the sides of my hair at all. I walked in and the owner Kim saw me right away and fixed haircut and it looks great now. Highly recommend

The first photo was from the day of my son’s haircut. I asked for a simple trim all the way around since he has curls I didn’t want his hair short. I even gave a reference photo to explain how I want his hair to look. It was literally a simple trim and I didn’t want it too short. You can see there’s just a good chunk of hair that sticks out since it’s longer than the rest of his hair. When we got home- that’s when I noticed there were some uneven parts especially in the back. I came back a day later to see if the same guy ( I believe his name was Adam) could fix it and make it even. I showed him exactly what part needed to be fixed and how I wanted it to be even with the rest of his length. I really tried to give him another chance. However, the end result I was unhappy with. His hair was cut so awkwardly and there’s still uneven parts. His hair doesn’t blend in at all- I can’t even tell there’s curls in the back. That was the curliest part too.. We have family pictures in two days and I’m very unhappy with how my son’s hair turned out.

I am extremely disappointed with the service my wife and our two boys received from Kate at Barber 281. This was our third visit, and it will definitely be our last. The experience was terrible and far from what we expected. During this visit, my wife asked for a mid fade for our boys, but the results were awful. The fades were patchy, uneven, and looked like bite marks. One side of each head had a higher "fade" than the other, showing a complete lack of skill and precision. This is unacceptable, especially from a professional barber. Our first visit was fine, which is why we returned. However, the second visit was a disaster, to the point where we only paid for one haircut out of two because the quality was so poor. Despite this, we decided to give Kate another chance, hoping for a return to the quality of the first visit. Unfortunately, she failed us again. We decided to give her a third chance because Saturdays are the only day that works for us to get haircuts, and it turns out she is the only one there on Saturdays. What made this experience even worse was Kate's unprofessional behavior. My wife was trying to send me pictures to see what else needed fixing, but before she could finish, another customer walked in. Kate immediately started cutting the new customer's hair without finishing with our boys or allowing my wife to express her concerns. When my wife tried to address the poor haircut, Kate got defensive and dismissive, accusing my wife of only coming in for free haircuts. Kate also told my wife that she did a great haircut and that she knows how to do fades and that my boys haircuts were great (I will let you be the judge of that, see pictures). This kind of behavior is unacceptable. A barber should be attentive and responsive to customer feedback, especially when the service provided is poor. Instead of fixing the situation, Kate chose to be rude and unprofessional. To potential customers: If you care about having clean, precise fades, avoid Kate. Our experience has been consistently disappointing, and we will never return. Let the future customers be the judge of her so-called "great fades."
