I like the location in the gulch and don’t know why I didn’t book there but I was charged 45 dollars for a buzz cut and was told it would take 2 sessions for a color I’ve always done in one. I’ve been here before for a buzz cut and have never have been charged that much. I didn’t book my color because I just feel like I was being lied to my entire visit.

I get my hair cuts @ Scout’s all the time because they do a great job at a fair price. The stylists are great and the atmosphere is perfect

Brad Lyons was great and became my new official barber in town! Great result, immediately understood the assignment and seams very passionate about his work. I think one of the many jobs a barber have, is to make you feel better than when you entered, and he nailed it!

EMILY CHALUT is the best! I have long hair and she is so good about hearing what I want and making it happen (I’m super picky by the way). My only hesitation writing this review is that she will get so busy that it will be hard for me to book with her. I guess I will share her amazingness though, since I love her.

I will say I’ve had good experiences at the Germantown location, but my most recent hair cut at Sylvan Park was terrible. My hair was down to right below my collarbones. I asked for a shoulder-length bob, showed inspiration photos, and explained the length I wanted in several ways. It should have been maybe 3 inches of hair at most. She ended up chopping off about 7 inches of hair and it was up to my ears. It was shorter than a bixie cut but not quite a pixie. The sides were hacked off to the point I lost all volume, and the length is so short I can’t do anything with it (which gets extremely frustrating). The hairstylist tried explaining why she cut my hair this way, but really there is no excuse. She should have thought it through before cutting and communicated before (or even during!) if she thought she couldn’t give me what I wanted. I’ve had plenty of hair stylists communicate that before. I talked to another trusted hair stylist and explained what happened. She agreed my hair was botched and not what I asked for, and explained it’s unfixable unless I want extensions or cut it shorter. Now I’m stuck with it while I try to grow it out, which is going to take months, and I’ve since noticed parts were cut uneven so they’re growing out weird. Just have to wait it out I guess…

Had a great experience. I was offered a drink upon arrival (though I only had some water) and got in the chair quickly. Kim was warm and welcoming, and was very adaptable to my VERY unkempt hair. The cut was clean and she had great tips for upkeep based on my hair type. Great time, and a great cut, and got in and out quickly.

Brought my son here for a haircut ON A SUNDAY. Beth did an AMAZING job!!! Very reasonable prices , very chic setting, they played great 70s music. I was overall very satisfied with everything here.

Excellent place and establishment to go get a haircut staff were friendly free complimentary beer for adults waters for children and candy prices are extremely decent will be returning soon had Barber Miss Kim she did an excellent job on my son's hair👏

Street parking. Professional stylists that will give you the look that you need. Most guys don't know what that is. They'll do it for you. Very skilled with the straight razor. I'm 50 and balding and I got a cut that minimizes my bald spot and reestablished my hairline. They also cut my beard in a way that made me look great. Hot towel before the shave and cold towel after. Oh, and cold beer on tap. If you're into that.

Barb at Scout's on West End has become one of my favorite people to talk to. When I come in, I always look forward to catching up with her. She is incredibly passionate about hair and it shows in the quality of her work. She pays close attention to your unique hair type and works with you to decide on the best options. She has consistently given me some of my best haircuts. Barb also bleached and toned my hair the last time I went in, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. So many people have complimented me on how natural it looks. I always leave my appointments with Barb feeling 10x more confident, and I'm so thankful for that.
