I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves an honest explanation for future customers. I was traveling through Nashville and booked a haircut at Ole Glory Barbershop. Running about 10 minutes behind, I called ahead to give notice, but I was told that their policy treats any lateness over 15 minutes as a no-show, and I would be charged the full fee. If I still wanted the haircut, I'd need to book a second appointment and pay again. One haircut, two charges. As another reviewer here experienced, this is a pattern, not an accident. Here's what made this truly absurd: their Monday schedule was completely open. Every single slot, empty. No lost revenue, no client waiting behind me. I understand strict cancellation policies in high-volume shops, but that logic simply doesn't apply here. Because I urgently needed the haircut, I proceeded. Total: $65 for the "no-show" + $75 for the actual cut = $140 for a very standard haircut. To add to it, during the cut the owner was simultaneously conducting a training session for her husband, whom she is teaching the craft. It felt unusual to pay premium prices while also serving as a live practice model. I noticed Emily proudly quotes Ephesians 4:32 on her website: "Be kind and compassionate to one another." I'd also gently note that among the seven deadly sins in Christian tradition, greed holds a prominent place. I'll leave it to others to decide how well the spirit of that verse is reflected in the experience described above. Policies should be applied with reasonable judgment and basic goodwill, especially toward customers who communicate in advance. Unfortunately, that was not the experience here.

Almir, we're truly sorry you weren't satisfied with your experience with us. We strive and aim for the best experience for each and every one of our guests... every time.<br><br>When we made contact over the phone, you had said you were running 10 mins behind. You were already 5 minutes late. By the time you would have parked, and sat down in our chair it would've been 20 to 25 minutes past your original appointment time. With our policy, we would have agreed to charging you for the time slot you booked and missed. As we expected, you didn't sit down until 25 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. We also had informed you, we could still service you as we had a singular open slot after you. As yourself and the other reviewer who also didn't show up in a timely manner, we enforce our cancelation policy to ensure reciprocated respect from the start of our relationship.<br><br>When you initially had booked your appointment at 10:23 AM for later that same day at 5:30 PM you are correct, our books were open. But our slots filled up; So yes, the logic still applies. <br><br>If you were unhappy with having to pay for an additional appointment with us, we would have happily referred you elsewhere. Instead, you 100% insisted on coming in anyway and expressed it was not a problem at all; that you completely understand our policy. With how our appointment went, we had absolutely no idea you were more than unhappy. <br><br>Our website has our cancelation policy clearly posted, as well as you had signed a contract agreeing to these terms prior to scheduling your appointment with us. These rules apply to all of our new and reoccurring guests.<br><br>It is unfortunate you feel we're greedy for having boundaries and valuing our time. We will unfortunately not be able to please everyone who sits in our chair. We do recall having a great service and a very nice conversation with you. Expressing you enjoyed the cut, experience, and eveything overall, enough to leave us a nice tip. We truly had no idea you had felt so terrible about our business from how our service went; Enough to make a point to express a 1 star review. We truly had no idea from the in-person impression you left us. <br><br>We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit in Nashville and have a safe trip to Florida.

A must stop if you’re in Nashville and need a haircut. I’m from out of town and I had been to a barbershop in Nashville that messed me up bad… I looked to see what was around and stumbled upon Ole Glory. I wish I would’ve seen this spot first. Emily was beyond helpful throughout the whole process and got me in hours later. The booking process was easy and the shop was as clean as it could be. Emily has truly mastered her craft. Her customer service and attention to detail is next level. If you need a fade and a good conversation this is the spot to be. Ill be stopping by again if im ever back in Nashville.

I just got a taper-fade from Cody Brazil, and he absolutely crushed it. The fade is so blurry, the lines are sharp, and you could tell with his confidence, speed and ability to communicate and ask questions about my preferences- he really knows his stuff. Not only that, Cody's a super chill dude- easy to talk to and he made me feel comfortable which made the whole experience a good one. I highly recommend him and will be back soon.

There is nothing better than finding that perfect barber who knows exactly how you like your hair cut. Someone like Cody Brazil is that barber. Cody’s has cut my hair perfectly for years. He’s professional but very personable. The Ole Glory Barbershop is lucky to have him. Only guy I’d fly to Nashville for a haircut from.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop! I had the best experience and plan to do all further hair care with Ole Glory! I have thick and bushy hair that is difficult to cut and style. Emily not only listened to my needs and what I was telling her, but she had recommendations and gave me options that would help with my hair, especially as I get older and my hair continues to change. She made suggestions that no other barber/stylist had ever mentioned before, that actually works! Great atmosphere, smiling people, and overall positive experience. Highly Recommend!

I’m a barber from Missouri, and while traveling I had the pleasure of visiting Emily at Ole Glory. As a barber of nearly nine years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for what true barbering should be—and I always look for barbers who share that same passion. Emily did not disappoint. It was refreshing to sit in a chair with someone who’s genuinely skilled in their craft and takes pride in what they do. I booked the rejuvenating facial service since it’s not something I currently offer in my own shop, and I was curious to experience it firsthand. I was pleasantly surprised by how relaxing it was, and my face felt better than it ever has afterward. I can’t recommend this shop enough. It’s led by someone who truly knows their craft and represents the best of what barbering should be. Thank you, Ole Glory, for setting the standard and showing what our industry is all about!

This was genuinely one of the loveliest haircut experiences I have ever had and I wasn’t even getting my hair cut! I accompanied my friend to get her haircut and we were so so lucky to find Emily. She was an absolute sweetheart, offering us coffee, tea, wifi, and lots of laughs. She was a complete professional with my friends hair dreams and made them all come true :) my only possible complaint is that she was too efficient - we would’ve loved to hangout all night! Note that she does women’s hair as well and she does it superbly!!

Emily is the best barber I’ve ever had - period. I’ve had plenty of haircuts in my life, but no one comes close to Emily when it comes to precision, vibe, and the full experience. From the moment you sit in her chair, you feel taken care of - not just like another appointment. She knows exactly how to work with different hair types (I have some tricky spots like cowlicks and curls), and always nails the fade, flow, and shape I want. But it’s more than just the cut - it’s the works: a relaxing shampoo, hot towel, head and neck massage that honestly feels like a reset button for your whole week. You walk out looking sharp and feeling brand new. Emily is talented, professional, and has a great presence. I’ve moved cities, and I still haven’t found anyone who matches her level. If you’re lucky enough to be local - go to her. You won’t regret it.
