Been going here for years, and couldn’t recommend more. Easy to book, old school feel, great conversation and super affordable. Dave and his shop is what barbershops are supposed to be. Stop looking and just go here.

My son recently saw Shanna, upon a recommendation from a client of hers, and she did the best hair cut he’s ever had. He’s sent his friends to her too, and they are all happy. Shanna was so sweet and patient w what he wanted and was very professional. Also, she was very nice to me, too! Highly recommend her.

We recently moved back to the area and I took my son to a chain place for a quick haircut that was … awful. After asking around, a friend of mine recommend Shanna at VanRyn’s so we booked an appointment and headed in. She took one look at my son and said - “oh, we need to fix this immediately” and she did! Shanna was a gem with him - he’s only 3 - and worked quickly, professionally and perfectly. His new haircut looked amazing and more importantly - grew in so well. Shanna will be my first stop for every haircut going forward.

Erin is the absolute best! I've tried so many places for my son and she is the only person that can work with his hair. Her cuts always grow back in flattering so we can go longer between appointments.

I’ve been coming to Van Ryn’s barbershop for many years, and have been bringing my some since he was born. I love the feel, and am happy that there are still good, traditional style barbershops around. I love Dave and his whole team. Very personable and professional staff — all excellent at what they do.

I have been going to Van Ryn's for years. The staff is friendly. While I have probably gotten my hair cut by most of the staff there, and they have all been very good, I mostly make appointments with Erin. You can't go wrong with anyone working there but Erin is excellent. My son and I have always had a good experience. I started going here back in 08 or 09 when I moved into the area. Parking can be tough right outside the building because it is in the heart of West Chester, but there is plenty of parking around and nearby. Rates are pretty standard. They did expand the building to add more chairs and staff which is good. Saturdays are particularly busy so definitely make your appointment a few days in advance for this particular day. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Great place for a great haircut. Update: I have been going here for a bi-weekly haircut for almost 3 years now. From the first day I walked they have always greeted me and every other person I have seen walk in. Gina has always been able to get me in for a cut even with short notice. I would recommend anyone that needs a hair cut to check this place out first you will not be disappointed.

Awesome barber shop in the Borough of West Chester. I found the place while frantically walking around town trying to get a haircut hours before a wedding where I was going to be a groomsman. No other barber shop in town could fit me into their schedule. The amazing women at Van Ryns got me in and out the door within 30 minutes while the place was absolutely packed with customers. I cannot express with words how grateful I am for what they did, and I didn't even mention how good the haircut was. I was told I had the best haircut of all the groomsmen as rated by all of the bridesmaids. I won't go to another barber shop as long as this place is in business.
