I needed to find a new barber as my long time barber closed up shop. I knew the name Troncelliti from my time living in Ardmore. While his new shop is far from me, I thought I would give him a shot. When I came in there were three barbers. I was more than happy to wait as long as I needed to to get my hair cut. Eventually a fourth person came in and John directed me to that person's chair. The gentleman was very nice, but it was a little hard to communicate with him. I thought we had gone over the details of what I wanted... When he showed me both my beard and haircut in the mirror, I should have noticed, but I wasn't wearing my glasses. When I got home, I realized that despite him spending almost 25 minutes on just my beard, one side of my face was extremely short (like #2 short) and the other was almost as long as when I walked in (probably around a #4 or#5 guard). Additionally, a huge chunk of my beard on the right side was just missing. Bare skin. I spent another 20 minutes with my trimmer trying to mitigate what he had done. My haircut was also fairly uneven in the back. I did call and left a message about an hour after I got home, and never heard back. I hesitated to write details in here as the barber I had was an older gentleman, and I don't want him to suffer any consequences. Sometimes you just get a bad haircut.

We were looking for a place to get my son (21 months) his first haircut and we were in a time crunch. It was a memorable experience and my son sat on my husband’s lap and we got a great cut! I could tell when we walked in just before closing with a toddler the barber was initially a little like, “uh oh,” but he agreed to see us and efficiently and kindly cut our son’s hair.

John and all the barbers here give excellent haircuts, and the classic barbershop atmosphere and great conversation makes it a great place to be.

John gave my husband the best haircut! I was super impressed because he didn’t have much to work with . His cut looks awesome and hair even looks fuller . Best barber .

I have gone here several times and have always had a great experience! I liked the work so much, I even had Santo cut my hair the morning before my wedding. Such an old school classic atmosphere, the only thing that compares is in the movies. Also, family oriented and they seem to be great with the parents/kids that come through.

Started going a year ago … like the barber shops went to when grew up run by Italian guys in neighborhood. Give good cut and they take their time while you are in the chair. Price reasonable also.

John Troncelletti first cut my hair when I was eight years old. The only reason I didn't go to John was when I went away to military school and some 30 years later when I went to live in Thailand. John is a fantastic barber. Can we still call him a barber or refer to him as a hairstylist? There is no political correctness in the barbershop. John is a barber. The shop is for people who want a real barbershop experience. We go to John's shop in Ardmore or Devon for the conversation. Many stayed long after cutting their hair to immerse themselves in the day's controversy. It's not just a haircut. It was a place to talk, and everyone had an opinion. I was responsible for many heated discussions. I'm sure that when John finally retires and closes his shop for good, there won't be another barbershop like it. It would be an end of an era. I'm posting pictures of my now 16-year-old son. Following my tradition, I brought my boy to John. I was eight when my mother brought me and my younger brother to Troncelleti. Children were often in the shop waiting to get their hair cut. John was great with children, as were the other barbers. Over the years, I've known many of John's barbers. My old photos speak for themselves.

I drive over 10 miles to go to John's place. He greets every single person coming in the shop and you get a high level of personal care. I had always gone to chain haircut places before discovering what a true barber does. I was sold on when they shaved my neck. This is an honest, hard working shop. I'm delighted to be able to help them while getting a great cut!

I went to John Troncelliti Barber Shop for the first time today and I was extremely impressed. I had the pleasure of getting a haircut from John and it is the best haircut that I have had in many years. Friendly shop, experienced barbers, great service - there really isn't anything else that one could ask for. I wish I had known about this barber shop earlier.

Best barber shop on the Main Line. Great team and fantastic owner. Went in for a birthday trim today and Mr. John wouldn't let me pay! Turns out we share the same birthday! Such a kind, generous and completely unexpected gesture. I'm a customer for life!! Thanks John (and Happy Birthday)! 🙂🙂
