1st time- my hair needed treats (specifically a higher quality heat protectant with at-home hot tools) 2nd time- fuzzy worms all over (clean up my lines and tell me I’m doing fine pls) 3rd time- bobbing like I meme it (hot-tooled style with an undercut was a first for me and the stylist! im bouncin 😌) the folx at Rudy’s of Sellwood are super helpful and knowledgeable. guess that’s why I keep going there

Ellian did a fantastic job of trimming me up while my regular stylist was on vacation. I would not hesitate to book with them again.

I've been to this Rudy's twice now, I don't normally leave negative reviews for places but unfortunately I am quite upset after the stylist I saw cut off an absolutely ridiculous amount of my hair unprompted and without asking permission. I will say that I've only had lovely experiences with the staff here - you can tell they're being rushed, but they're still attentive and kind. I asked to have my undercut redone, my bangs trimmed at my eyebrows, and to trim my ends. The undercut is excellent but my bangs are about an inch and a half above my eyebrows (the stylist did apologize for this at the appointment which I appreciate,) and I lost an average of about 3-4 inches off the end, with some places having had more like 7 inches cut off! My hair went from a full mane mullet to a whispy, tapered cut. She cut off so many of my curls and it's very difficult to wear down in an attractive way because she put in a bunch of layers which I did not want nor asked for. It's probably going to take six months to a year to even get back to a reasonable place with this cut and I will have to cut more to even out the layers she added. She seriously cut off what feels like more than a third of my hair - I miss my front curls! It's just hair and I will get over it in time, but right now I am devastated and cannot recommend going to this Rudy's. The whole appointment felt very rushed, which is true for the last time that I went to this Rudy's as well. I attached a photo to show how thin it is - prior to this appointment, my hair was down to the middle of my back with only a few transitional layers near the top of my head. The layers she cut off in the top and middle are especially egregious, that is where she cut off something like seven inches of hair in places. Nothing I can do but wait, I just wanted to send feedback so that hopefully this doesn't happen to someone else.

Blair has my haircut dialed down. They are always ready for cool conversation on things like Godzilla or neurodivergence. As someone who has spent a lifetime dreading haircuts, I haven’t dreaded them since I first came to Rudy’s in Sellwood.

My hair was more or less a mess when I showed up for my appointment. Ivy understood what I was looking for, despite my poor attempts at explanation. She did absolutely amazing work, recommended some great products for my hair, and sent me on my way feeling better than I think I ever have about a haircut. I so appreciate you! I will definitely be back.

Blair was incredibly friendly and gave exactly the kind of haircut I wanted. I also dug the overall vibe at this location. Will definitely return for future cuts!

I've been coming to this location for nearly a decade, since it was that other place. I've always gotten great service from the staff here, and was super happy to see that most of the faces stayed the same when it became Rudy's. I have very fine, very thick hair with a bunch of cowlicks, and the folks are always good about accounting for that in the cuts I get. This is the only place I want to get my hair cut, as not only do they do a great job with that, the place is super queer-friendly and welcoming. I just feel happy when I'm done.
