Ok, I’m a grumpy old man, firmly embracing my “Dude phase”, so it had been a couple years since my last haircut. So when I saw the price for a men’s long cut was $52 I almost decided to wait another year. But I want to support a local business that’s gotten some distressing press, so I persisted. And I’m glad I did - and not just because there’s a shop dog! On top of that, though, the shop was clean and the wait was minimal. When I got seated, Samwise proved to be engaging and knowledgeable, explaining why my strategy of neglect wasn’t great for my hair without sounding preachy. While they worked, the conversation was easy and not the usual boilerplate small talk, so that was nice. In the end, I left with a cut I was happy with - which is not my experience with other barbers and contributes to my avoidance - as well as some product I love. But the cut is still too expensive IMO, but now I feel this…loyalty? So I’m stuck. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Eric cut my hair on a visit to Portland. We had never met before, but he gave me one of the best cuts I’ve ever gotten. Eric, though new to the industry, has a natural talent for styling hair. I have a lot of cowlicks that can complicate things, but Eric handled it all artfully. I highly recommend getting a cut by him.

Very nice shop. Samwise did an amazing job taking me from a shoulder length bob to a short cut with shaved sides. I get a lot of anxiety getting my hair done and Sam explained everything they were doing very well as well as what the different style choices would look like and mean for upkeep. Thank you!

This was my first time coming here and it was one of the best looking haircuts I have ever received. Amber was so nice and easy to talk to and did an amazing job at cutting my hair. She listened to what I wanted and it looks perfect! The staff is super friendly and the shop has a very cool unique look. Will definitely be coming back again!!

I’ve had my hair cut by Olivia several times in the past year and she alway does an amazing job. My latest cut was for a big family wedding and I wanted something a little more stylish than my basic ‘maintenance’ cut. Olivia totally delivered! Trendy but not outlandish (I’m over 50 after all). Best haircut I’ve gotten since my unfortunate ‘Flock of Seagulls’ phase back in the 80’s. Highly Recommend!

Price gouging 101! I went in for a 15 minute touch-up as I keep my hair short and neat. I actually set up an appointment and explained to the gentleman at the front desk what I wanted. When I went to settle the bill after I tipped my barber, they charged me an additional $37!!!! I looked at the guy(same guy who scheduled my appointment a week ago) and said, "you can't be serious?!!!" He said, " I don't set the prices the owner does!" I looked at their other reviews were patrons state that their prices are reasonable. I completely disagree($42 for a 15 minute touch up with the clippers). Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I really feel like I was taken advantage of!

Was really hesitant to get a haircut at a barbershop since but my stylist (I forgot her name ) gave me an awesome haircut. She was super super communicative all the way through which I really appreciated. We were able to discuss precisely what Style would work best. The price was very reasonable and I will be back.

No matter who cuts my hair I feel my experience at Rudy's is always positive. Everyone is helpful, skilled, and friendly. If you need a cut on the fly, they have you covered. Need to schedule something out, also cool. I started going here exclusively years ago and never looked back - they a do a fantastic job with my long, wavy/curly hair. Nevermind that they are also far less expensive than your average salon.

Fantastic place with a great vibe and awesome barbers! Highly recommend this place. Call ahead to set an appointment and once you get there - enjoy yourself!
