New to the village, trying to find a new barber. Yesterday Rosa gave me the worst haircut I ever got in my life. I explained how long I wanted it to be and what I was looking for. Then she ignored all of my instructions, came in with an electric sheers and, in about 4 swift strokes, trimmed away to about an inch shorter than I wanted. Then she evened out the top a bit and declared she was done. About 8 minutes total. I guess the speed is easy if you are just hacking away with a razor. Maybe the other barbers are better, but I won't be going back to find out.

Rudy is great, phenomenal even. The rest of his staff, also great – Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with Alex today, one of the barbers: He seems hard of hearing, which is fine; however, he didn't actually ask me what I wanted when I sat down – more told me what he was going to do. I had to tell him my instructions between his sentences and remind him of them more than once. He seemed more interested in talking and relaying anecdotes than he did cutting my hair and following my instructions. I asked for a trim on the top, but he only trimmed the front; I asked for a 3 on the sides with a taper – I got the 3, but no taper. By the end he used the straight razor at an unpleasant angle and went over the same area multiple times to the point where I physically winced; he didn't seem to notice. During the haircut, he asked multiple times if I wanted my beard trimmed. I said "no thank you" each time. After 35 minutes, which is itself on the long side for a men's haircut, I communicated I needed to leave in 5-min to keep a meeting with a client. I take responsibility for not communicating that earlier, but I also didn't think the haircut would take 40 minutes. When I asked if we were finished and communicated I needed to leave again, Alex said yes, but then took out a beard trimmer and did exactly what I asked him not to do multiple times. He rushed to trim my mustache, the sides of my mustache, and my neckline, which I had literally just done myself not 2 hours prior. Now, to be clear, I think Alex did a good job at what he did, minus making me wince with the straight razor; but he couldn't remember my instructions, even after going over them multiple times. Rudy, the owner, noticed I was little flustered and unhappy, and he asked how he could make things right; like I said, Rudy is great. But I was at that point in a rush and just needed to leave. Maybe Alex was having an off day, but I still paid for a service that wasn't what I asked for. I hope this review comes off as intended, in good faith; hence the 4 stars. If I'd not had previously great experiences, it would be less. I ultimately recommend Palace Barbershop, but be wary of Alex; and if he does cut your hair, be firm with him if he doesn't seem to be doing what you want, or listening to you. That way, you'll avoid having to go pay for another whole haircut somewhere else, like I have to do right now.

I have been taking my son to Palace Barber Shop for the last 10 years . The barbers are always wonderful especially Rudy. He is always attentive, friendly and accommodating to us and I assume everyone else. The place is kept clean and tidy on a regular basis. Which is difficult given how busy the store usually is. They offer the nice hot towel shaves and take time on each client. I have been to a few other places in town. I really appreciate the attention and service at this place. They are all wonderful here. Give them a try.

Took my son in for his hair cut before first day of school. Rudy did a phenomenal job replicating the hair cut I showed him from a photo. He was great at keeping my son comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Rudy is amazing , I have been looking for a good barber for my son for a while and I am thrilled to have found him through a friend! Totally worth the 40 min drive it takes to get there. Rudy has a special touch and really is very talented in hair cutting and styling for men and boys. My sons hair looks like he got it cut in a high end Salon. From now on we will only go back to Rudy!

Rudy, Rosa, Alex, and Tony are all amazing! I've been going to them for 5 years now. They all treat you like family and the haircut is always of high quality. Love this place! Highly recommend for everyone (including kids!).

I saw the great reviews of this place and decided to give it a try about half a year ago, and they've become my regular barbers since. All the good things said about it were accurate. Rudy will cut your hair exactly as you instruct, and is extremely personable and considerate. He is very efficient and the store gives you a hot towel compress after your haircut.

Went to Palace for the first time today. Used a coupon I had received from the local paper. Rudy gave me an excellent haircut. Extremely friendly and courteous. The shop is clean and still has the original old school barber chairs from the old days. Very clean as well. I'd recommend trying out Palace and requesting Rudy.
